Quoting haters will not make it a valid argument. IT was imperative to give some match practice to BUmrah. As a captain, you can’t have our trump card playing the first match in the WC. It’s fashionable to blame everything on others. It’s just an unfortunate incident, blame the selectors, Rohit for not preparing a tearaway as a backup

There is no like for like replacement in our set up. They still use the pecking order anyway. They don't care who they are replacing. For them one body is replaced by another body.

So Jadeja and Bumrah - 2 starting names in the line ups won’t play the wc. What is the point of player rotation policy. Does it exist or just a fancy name people repeat often?

Actually, if you recall from the last ODI World Cup in England,  there was this Bumrah interview and he was like it's his first world cup and he wants to play every game.  That brought alarm bells as the  group stage was really long and he should've been rested inbetween. I don't recall but I think he got injured shortly after. IIRC,somewhere around that time was his first major injury.

 

Also, the IPL timing is always horrible, mostly just before  world cup.  players are exhausted and injury prone. BCCI should've have common sense to not schedule IPL just before WC.  atleast it's not there this time.

 

Furthermore, the last ODI World cup,the prior years, there was just too much emphasis on Test cricket which brought out the shortcomings in selection and odi's being sidelined.  didn't make sense...seemed like last ODI world cup wasn't a priority.

Even with them there this team ain't winning anything.  There is no strategy or planning. And Jadeja is a fraud in T20s anyway.

And more than limited talent,  they lack the desire and hunger to win which can sometimes make up for the former.

So we are going draft someone who didn't play for year while we were prepping for the WC and say he is the leader of our attack? correct? Lol this is going to be fun!!!!

 

2019 WC they screwed with our batting, 202 WC they are screwing our bowling.

You plan for the WC, by having a backup for every single position in the playing XI.

 

You then give opportunities for every backup to play in the XI on a consistent basis. There has to be some method behind this too, it can be randomly assigned here and there.

Again India failed to do this.

 

Its given KL and Kohli so many batting opportunities that if they get injured, India have not got proper backups that have played as either opener or 1 down for a long time now.

 

The same with the bowling as well. Boobi is immovable object. So why give us so many Boobi's he should have been rested and we should have tested multiple bowlers.

 

Same with spin as well.

 

Ironically our wicket keeping has been rotated to some extent, however even here, Pant has hardly played much T20 cricket. So if needed he doesnt have a lot of practice under him.

Well, stress fracture can be a career ending journey. It ended Shane Bond's career. Every expert warned that Bumrah's action will lead to back injury. Not sure if he will come back till next ODI world cup. He might even not be a same bowler. 

 

More than his pace or line/length, we will miss his brain. He was the only bowler after Zaheer who bowled thoughtfully. Others just spray around with occasional good outing.

People writing off him rather quickly I think. Injuries are part of most pace bowlers career. Plenty of instances where pacers have come back from stress injuries and bowled at the same pace and did well. Cummins had 2 stress fractures around 2015 and he came back bowling similar pace as before.
