sandeep Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 If you can't get Bangladesh out with 500 runs on the board, regardless of how flat or bad the track is, then you do not deserve to play in WTC final. Pollack 1

Kela used Umesh for one over took him out then Axar couple of overs. Siraj couple of overs. NObody settled. Kela changed bowling so fast with no clue. rollingstoned, raki05 and sandeep 3

Pollack Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 500 runs are more than enough for most teams in 4th innings forget bangladesh.
DeepSpace Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Bang brothers to score ~500 runs in 4th innings to win. Poor Dravid, can’t catch a break!! Heartbreak after heartbreak!!!
Frustrated Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Dravid is likely to take a long 'undisputed' break after this debable. Like he does after every debacle, incl. WT20. Team's struggle goes from bad to worse to worst. But who cares?

The average wickets per day are pretty low on Days 4 snd 5. 2) By batting longer, the Indians could have niggled the fitter BD bowlers and this could have helped in the next test. What was the need to declare today ? Declaring at lunch tomorrow would have been ideal with atleast 150 overs left. So obvious, makes me wonder those that dont understand your post, lack the understanding of Test Match Cricket in 2022. The demoralizing aspect of India batting till Day 4 lunch also would have been a significant variable. India could not lose and at worst a draw. It means you place attack field and ask your bowlers to attack as runs is irrelevant. If Pujara can score a century at close to a run a ball, thats all the danger signs and red flags you need that it was easy to bat on. Its a moronic stupid declaration on multiple levels. express bowling 1
SRT100 Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 I raised this issue even before the declaration. Timing is everything. Indian managed to even f**k this up. express bowling 1
jalebi_bhai Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 What a bunch of fattus With 5 legit bowling options, why so much wristslitting after one ordinary session? This isn't Stokes' England we're playing. Should file petition with owners to rename the forum to indiancricketfattus.com Lord and rollingstoned 2
Norman Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Lol. Did people seriously think Bangladesh of all teams would chase down freaking 500 against us? Even if they relay the wicket with a concrete slab, they will fail to score that many. This site is becoming increasingly pessimistic by the day. rollingstoned 1

Most people predicted that game will be over by tea today. Those who followed the game will know the pitch is dead and keeps getting more dead. Should still win but it is going to take longer than people are expecting. Norman 1

Lord Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Should win easily but our 4th innings bowling has been trash since Bharat Arun left

Nope it was poor ever since 2017 Oz series, we really couldn't close out some major games which we should've won. A lot of that fault goes to Ashwin but also, Brat, pacers & yes for Eng test this year Jadeja as well Basically it's like choking, in ICC KO's except teleported to the test arena!

Can't fault spinners in SENA when even pacers fail to step up. We did win Lords and Oval last year.Adelaide 2018 too. So wasnt this bad

putrevus Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) If India is afraid to test themselves against Bangladesh with 400 plus lead then when are they going to test themselves. As I said 400 in fourth innings should be plenty and it proved to be plenty. Edited December 19, 2022 by putrevus Laaloo 1

If you're not going to take risks against subpar bowlers with 280 lead and 10 wickets remaining, then when will you?

Why were Iyer and Pant not promoted , there was no need for either Pujara or Kohli to bat. Laaloo 1
