Not only that he married because she got pregnant. He didnt marry because of love though. May be he was dating her but at least he wanted to make sure it was long term relationship. She on the other hand decided to break it off. It might work for Indians but for firangis this hardly last if you marry for the permanency. I have seen this happened to a friend.

A lot of rumours online say that it was Hardik that cheated on her, he had his philandering ways. It was originally a shotgun wedding, because of the pregnancy. For a time, they were actually in love and they were making things work, but since last year Hardik has gone back to his KWK ways. As a person we know how he is, based on the way he spoke and behaved in the past. Obviously his PR was at an all time low during the MI saga. He milked the divorce and marital issues to improve his PR during the tournament. After the WC had ended and he won the WC for the country, his popularity was at an all time high. So he announced the divorce to gain support from the public, and sympathy, etc. His wife however is getting slut shamed, being called a gold digger etc. She's doing what's best for her child, her maternal instincts. She's breaking away from him. Yes, there will probably be hefty child support and alimony. But, I would say it would be deserved in this case. Indian public as always is quite misogynistic, and it's quite evident in social media.

 

So, we should not indulge in recency bias, and support him blindly. He's a decent cricketer, but as a person he was always a third rate chapri.
