devisreeprasadmahesh Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 (edited) Enough of KL Rahul. And Shubman Gill (even though sponsored by the BCCI). Just look at their Test averages after 50 and 27 tests respectively—it's been a long career for both. It's senseless to retain these two. I don't understand how the selection criteria in the BCCI work, especially when lobbying seems to play a role. Edited November 8, 2024 by devisreeprasadmahesh
Vickydev Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 KL doesn't have any clue how to score runs, he tries to stick around for a while and then will find a way to get out. Sgattick10 1
NameGoesHere Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 (edited) Looking at the scoreboard and our overrated, overpaid players, I am reminded of a verse by Mirza Ghalib. Ye behen ke l@dayyyy Inko maaro kodayy That’s all Edited November 8, 2024 by NameGoesHere raki05 1

Its specifically what we want from our third bowler, stock bowler bowling with great economy brings wickets for the team as the run flow is under control, economy is also a very useful stat in test cricket, especially for a stock bowler. Economy is very important for workhorse bowler, Ishant used to have great economy at his peak, Bumrah, Siraj and even Akashdeep are attacking bowlers, we need someone who can bowl a lot without being hit and develop pressure on the opposition. If its between Prasidh and Mukesh, as of now I will take Mukesh, the chances of them taking a lot of wickets in the first match is pretty low but the chances of getting hit are higher with Prasidh, dont want him to release all pressure which Bumrah or Akash develop. We will go with 4 pacers so, atleast one of them should be a workhorse.
Adamant Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Ideally I dont want Mukesh anywhere near our playing eleven, Rana, Bumrah, Akashdeep and Siraj should be our first four choices.

Economy can be achieved in Tests by being defensive and not troubling batsmen at all.

His SR since 2015 was around 53 which is quite good. One thing Prasidh can replicate is bounce. Mukesh is more suited to Eng conditions like Bhuvi.

It's unlikely that he would be economical against Australia. Neither would be Prasidh. Edited November 8, 2024 by express bowling Mosher, Suhaan, Number and 1 other 4
