Probably they told him that it will be either Washington or Jadeja in Sydney and Melbourne. Will miss his bowling in Tests.

An absolute Titan of Indian cricket. While he is probably our greatest Test spinner, I am happy he won a World Cup and a CT too. Probably the most cerebral Indian cricketer of all time.

This is super dumb. He would be useful in MCG/SCG.

 

Issue with India is the bowling backup after the initial burst. He can easily replace Reddy and play as a tight stock bowler. Was good in Adelaide.

Should have played both Jadeja and him.

 

He is still a good bowler and can bowl tight.

If Siraj had held on to the catch lol May be just may be.. Ravi jadeja playing this test is the right call.  But deep down playing in and out and also facing criticism from his own fans probably pushed him over the edge.  He always gave so much importance to test cricket. Worked hard to analyze players. So many players don't really bother to play Tests as it doesn't really make you money.  Hope Sundar picks up the baton and shows the same enthusiasm to play Tests.
