I am quite hopeful that Jaiswal will find a place as an opener. Given next T20 WC is in India where pitches will be flatter and India will stick to formula of bat aggressive and bat deep.

Only missing piece is the keeper, Sanju maybe asked to bat lower or possibly one of Pant/KL may make a comeback as well.

Tilak probably bat lower down the order.

Let us hope so, Kohli and Rohit are not stopping him there.

It does not matter who is there, he needs to impose himself in IPL and become undisputed first name on the team.

Abhishek Nayar was a personal coach of Dinesh Kartik when he was out of the India squad —- the insane Nidhas cup final knock that DK played against Bangladesh was attributed to the training and fitness regimen of Abhishek Nayar.

To be very honest rohit embarrassed himself in final after PP. The way he was denying single and double also the way he got out especially after a wkt fall was like he surrendered to the situation as he wasnt able to run or hit out. How come this motta saandh expected to play a wc after 2 years from now. Forget wc this motu would keep embarrassing himself and team in upcoming test series as well.

Yes, should have stayed for a further 40-50 runs partnership. Lost his cool as soon as the going got tough. It is very selfish of him to carry on despite being less than half the player he was at his peak.

He has worked on Rohit's fitness before too when Kirsten was coach. Much younger then tho and more spry.

I knew it!!! This rohit idiot is chasing Dhoni’s glory, he doesnt know how lucky he was with all Aussies players missing!!

like how dhoni got lucky with sachin being dropped 4 times in 2011 world cup semis. Do not negate any icc tourney wins, all are hard earned. I am no rohit fan. he does not merit a place in tests, already retired from t20's. ODI's , yes so long he keeps his form.  Seeking glory is not dhonis brith right, every super star desires that. Dhoni at 38 knocked out india in 2019 semis ( 50 odd from 72 balls. a run ball innings/strike rotation would have won it for india) ......at 38 rohit played a match winning odi innings in champions trophy final.

India too missing bumrah/jaiswal/pant if you are worried about aussies missing key players.

The next ODI WC is a confirmed disaster with these two oldies hanging on but is anybody else worried that they they will suddenly make a "come back" for the 2026 T20 WC as well?

Not a chance.  It is already packed now. That line up.

What are you even talking about, where did i question his luck in final with batting. I am questioning his fitness, did you see how miserable he looked post 14-15 overs, he was denying easy singles and doubles due to tiredness and struggling to run and hence eventually threw it away his wkt at crucial juncture when match was 50-50.

I didn't expect India to win T20 WC with Rohit and Virat as openers but they did. Now the two played role in CT win. Personally I feel both are spent force but if selectors think the two can win us WC 27 then I am all for it.

A quick fire 50  from rohit would always do good to the team. Similar to dhoni, rohit the captain >> rohit the batter, hence the persistence.

India missed such a trick by handing over captaincy to Kohli after Dhoni. If they had given it to Rohit we probably end up with 2 more ICC trophies. No way Rohit persists with a top heavy lineup with just 5 batters and 5 bowlers who couldn't hold the bat.

2019 ODI world cup semis, it was sheer bad luck that rain pushed indias innings to next day. No captain could beat conditons like rohit could not beat the slow pitch in 2023 odi world cup final, 2019 ODI semis, the pitch became damp and conducive to seam/swing due to rain and over cast conditions.

Its the loss in 2017 champions trophy which led to kulcha( kuldeep) who delivered in 2025 CT final. Its the duo of pandya, rishab who failed in 2019 ODI semis who performed in 2024 t20 world cup final.

2024 t20 semis too, it was panday/brumash brillainace rather than rohits captaincy master stroke. Rohit almost lost it for us bolwing akshar when it should have been pandya. Kohli lacked an element of luck. I agree india  could not win under iCC toruneys and rohit is better odi captain than kohli. Having said that, Kohli built a culture of fast bowling, nurtured fitness/fast bowling culture and made india a strong bowling unit which meant India had good success in SENA countries in TEST's and overall became a great test team. I think, kohli is an agressive captain who tends to go for the kill which does not work in ODI/t20's since its game of containment.

Way to go! I guess the conditions also force BRat to pick 4 keepers huh & walking/talking colgate ad over say Kuldeep or BK over Shami :hitler:

And I kept telling everyone here why he should've come in at 4 but No he's the best number 3 ever - how did the best choker joker fare in another KO :hmpf:
