Given this lineup, anything less than an Asia Cup win would be a massive disappointment.

There is no real upside in participating this pathetic tournament. First of all Indian players won't even be switched on. We are absolutely dominating Asia cup for years. WHy is it going to be any different. I don't care if they don't win. Infact even world T20 is not that big a deal given the frequency.

To be honest this is one tournament i missed the most. I never brought myself to watching it regularly as the quality has been real low. Remember the last ODI final where SL was bowled out for 51 runs.

I won’t be necessarily watching it. 

The real entertainment for me is Pak YouTube channels having week long meltdowns when losing these matches against India. This entertainment beats the actual match anyday. 
 

Hoping for an encore, but t20 is a hit or miss thing and I doubt how motivated the Indian team is given the calls to boycott the tournament.

Given the kind of depth INdia has you look at Pakistan even they can't fill the first XI where as India can quiet comfortably field 4 XIs that are better than Pakistan.  So we expect Indai to thrash them.

I always dread our lack of experience with left arm seamers who bring it in to RH batters - in big games. I’ve seen to so many times that I always have anxiety of a 10/4 with Shaheen. 
 

As long as we have planned for him and prepared - especially the new guys who have not played him before  -we should be good.

It was exaggerated by our trimurthis at the top.  Rohit (due to zero feet movement),   Rahul (duet to tentativeness),  Kohli (due to playing right across the line instead of offering straight bat).

useless series for Ind. if emtn are kept out only game that would matter will be vs afgn where ind can test and relibally deduce if their batting is really capable vs top spin bowling line-up in cricket that too playing in asn conditions.

lets say if jitesh plays a quick 20-25 ball 50 vs any team apart from afgn can this be taken as a solid case of him being a good finisher???

If GIll gets sub 45 ball ton against any team apart from afgn does that matter a bit or tells anything about him top of the orfer.

They are already disrespecting the Pahalgam victims and fallen armymen/BSF jawans by playing this Cup. If they lose, they will well and truly deserve the humiliation. If they win, who cares?

 

A tri-series with SL, Afg and they would have gained everyone's respect. But alas. Won't watch one ball of this tournament, shame on BCCI, shame on GOI. Won't blame the players for playing though, because they are contracted employees and have much more to lose if they disobey their employers, not everyone can be a Muhammad Ali who sacrificed his peak years for his moral stance. But still expect them to not shake hands with Pawkees, especially that pig Faheem Ashraf or Mohsin Naqvi who is ACC head.

Pak has already won before tournament start. They have shifted our event outside our country, when we couldn't do the same in CT. BCCI has been bullied to submission by an entity 20 times smaller than it, that stain will never go away even if we win the next 10 ICC tourneys. What is worse, even our women's ODI WC has been partially shifted outside India, to accomodate a rank minnow.

 

No self respecting country will allow itself to be ragdolled like that, BCCI roaches have been reduced to beggars surviving on small mercies of PCB. Imagine Iran shifting some event outside USA (especially a sport which Muricans care about), or one of the SE Asian countries shifting one outside China. Note that there isn't much blood split in those cases, unlike JK where there are terrorist infiltrations every week.

Pak is a bigger menace to humanity than apartheid RSA. At least white South Africans limited their despicable nonsense to their borders, but Pak is a nuisance to its neighbors and even the West, Africa, South America. Every jihadi terror attack anywhere in the world will have some Pak connection. Also this is a country where jihadis almost killed members of a visiting cricket team, doubt Iraq, Syria, Somalia are that uncivilized. Most Pawkees take pride in their state sponsored terror factory, don't be fooled by so called Pak liberals, scratch beneath their surface and you will notice that all of them admire Hafiz Saeed, Osama, Aafia Siddiqui etc. Each one of them is either a full blown terrorist or terror supporter. Not just that hellhole country, every single Pawkee must be shunned/isolated by civilized people.
