Axar isn't bad and he was doing pretty well before he mistimed that shot.

What are you talking about...so far at international level never showed anything with the bat and even today looked pretty ordinary

Dhoni has always had a thing for young malnourished left-handers. Promoted Jadeja in 2009 T20 WC but got knocked out v Eng.

Axar Patel is continuing the losing tradition of Dhoni fetishes.

Dhoni loves malnourished left handers. Maybe it's how they grip the ball in their left hands which Dhoni,likes...

I don't think he looked ordinary today, played according to the situation. Took an odd risk. He is still very young. I have seen his potential in domestic cricket and also on Aus A tour with the bat. He might look malnourished but generates some amazing power in his shots. He is going to be better than Jadeja with the bat.

What OP wants to hear is, Dhoni sux etc etc.

So what if Axar has shown batting ability in his career, and has the ability to hit the big shot.  So what a left-handed batsman would have better odds with 2 left-arm spinners playing.  Bottomline is Dhoni sux.  Happy?

With the two left arm spinners, it made sense. Probably was looking for some quick runs as Axar is capable of slogging the spinners and Pandya to be kept for the end overs. I don't see that the other way round may have impacted the result much.
