R!TTER
His numbers in ODI since last year, now I know what some of the responses will be but I do see that the captaincy is starting to affect him, especially in ODI View overall figures [change view] Start of match date greater than or equal to 1 Jan 2019 Involving the captain V Kohli (INDIA) Qualifications runs scored greater than or equal to 1000 Ordered by runs scored (descending) Page 1 of 1 Showing 1 - 2 of 2 First Previous Next Last Return to query menu Cleared query menu Overall figures Player Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 0 4s 6s RG Sharma (INDIA) 29 28 1 1652 159 61.18 1805 91.52 8 6 1 162 42 V Kohli (INDIA) 32 31 2 1635 123 56.37 1710 95.61 5 10 1 154 10 He has a career avg close to 60 btw so even if the dip is marginal, you'll find that the last 6 months have been even worse! Sandeep99
I'm glad it's the case. India needs a strong middle order and the only way to do it by getting those guys maximum chance to bat and normalizing brat is the best thing to happen. AuxiliA, velu, sandeep and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Gollum
Nope, expectations are sky high when it comes to him. Even a small dip might look exaggerated, hope he is saving it up for the tests and T20 WC this year. ODIs are meaningless the next 2 years. Having said that his WC performance was distinctly mediocre, don't even need to look at his stats, he wasn't himself in the event. Link to comment
Gollum
He also needs some rest, why does he even need to play ODIs this year? Starting from September this year there will be a very tight and tough schedule for 18 months. Vk1, Vijy and Unstable Joe 3 Link to comment

Ankit_sharma03
A captain has a lot in his plate so he wud be exhausted more then others at time. This series if anything he has looked exhaused Also no one will ever pe at peak in whole career Link to comment

Stan AF
His numbers are tapering (normalizing) for sure. This is coinciding with some of the toughest ODI games that India has had to play over the last 2 years. Link to comment
R!TTER
In part because he's playing full strength sides or we're not playing our best 11, the ones in SA, Oz were against depleted oppositions. In that sense his numbers are indeed exaggerated, especially the bilateral bully part! sergio04 1 Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
When you become arrogant and overconfident, karma always strikes back. Kohli will soon realise that and will most likely lose captaincy raki05 1 Link to comment
Cricwala
Ian Chappell once said every captain has a shelf-life of around 5 years. Kohli has reached that saturation point - it will be best for him if he realizes this and relinquishes LOI captaincy to Rohit. Then he can focus on tests and his own game. But his ego and PR team will not allow this to happen. raki05, SUMO and Stan AF 3 Link to comment
SK_IH
I am actually happy he did not score runs in this useless series. Let's save some runs for matches that actually matter. Link to comment
