BeautifulGame Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Dhawan n mishra have been performing for past few yrs so what wrong have they done dhoni has been a part of this team non stop for years. Yuvi just got back and has been only one series Yuvi is a legend they aren't that's the difference. If he going to be given a contract , it should reflect of that. It's like giving Dravid a central contract on his last days and putting him in in lowest category.Shouldnt happen.

Vk1 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) There's an article in Cricinfo. It seems that Kumble is fighting it out for players. Apparently contracts were last revised in 2010. So what is this some govt PRC? Have a feeling that Dhoni colluded with Srini mama to brush this topic under the carpet. Probably caused huge financial loss for players like ChePu and for permanently changing F.C players to become T20 hacks Link to Cricinfo article http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/story/1089321.html Edited March 31, 2017 by BeautifulGame sscomp32, Gollum, New guy and 1 other 2 2
BeautifulGame Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Srini actually contributed for increasing the salaries of domestic players and introducing Pension to former players more than any BCCI admin before .Not a single board in any international sport does that. And that was intorudced by Srini. As for that Cricinfo article , have to say the players are greedy as f if they think the new contracts arent good enough. Another source said the BCCI could not use the players' IPL earnings as a pretext for not substantially increasing the annual retainers. "One player might get a contract worth 12 crore, another may be bought for 30 lakh, and there are players who don't get any IPL contracts," the source said. "Why should the board be concerned with the amount of money players make from the IPL? The values of both these properties are different, so why do they connect the two? The BCCI is the richest board and the money is meant to be spent on cricket and cricketers, not stadia." Yeah right money shouldnt be spent of cricket infrastructure in India just to fill their coffers .What a bunch of greedy jokers . Rasgulla, sscomp32, HippoSucks and 1 other 3 1

If you make more money playing Ranji trophy than being in the Team India test squad - then there's something wrong with that picture. And if the BCCI doesn't fix that, then you can't blame players for being like Irfan Pathan - reluctant to put in the hard work in domestics or caring much for test cricket. Why should the next Hardik Pandya try to work on his red ball bowling in ranji, if he's going to make 10x more money in IPL? There's a problem there, and BCCI needs to address it. And agree about the Srini point - he did introduce good pension scheme for players. Also don't know why OP needlessly brings Dhoni into a contract and BCCI question. Silly and Stupid. That's the evolving nature of the sport. How can a Pujara ,who can't score outside Asia earn more than Dhawan who contributed far more in ICC trophies for India. Where should we draw the line ? By that logic - test cricket is not going to attract the best players anymore. Is that what you want? The toughest format to attract the leftovers, while the best choose to play the 3 hour version? Don't give me market logic. That's a cop out.

Test cricket will die before T20 no matter what we do, if more people dont watch test cricket eventually it will loose its significance, or live as a reduced version atleast in terms of finances. Imagine rock climbing, its the roughest but is it highest paid, or gymnastics. New guy 1
Vk1 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 we have seen how Mohinder Amarnath was relegated when he wanted to drop Dhoni..We have seen how Dhoni behaved when his own circle..that Dara Singh son and Meiyappan screwed IPL reputation.. saw news that a sincere IPS officer I was suspended as he had some data on big csk players on spot fixing.. som would say enough reason to think of quid pro quo. mancalledsting Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Absolute joke. Make no mistake, without the players hardwork and talent, none of this exists......no stadia, no board meetings, no sponsors, no tv rights, no international eyes on India, no national pride, no ICF. They deserve a big slice of the pie as they generate the income...not some BCCI bhabu sscomp32, Ironhide, SecondSlip and 2 others 5

While paying lip service to the adage that test cricket is the most important format of the game. What lip service .They are getting paid nearly 2 crores. And that's without match fees ,IPL contracts , other awards etc. How many people in India even that much? This is the elitist of elitist salaries. This is just greedy from players if they say this ain't enough. And even more pissing off when they say it's more important than improving infrastructure of the sport in the country.
