They got bruised and hit many times in this match(especially 2nd innings) but didnt give their wickets away. They fought hard and showed real spirit. Very good to see.

Yup, especially the top 3 +Kohli who faced the brand new cherry. Eventually they softened the ball and the SA spirit which made it easier for the lower order.

Yeah proud of the way they played. They showed grit. They probably would have had similar success in earlier tests with match practice, proper team selection and backing the players.

Criticism and usual contrarian bakwaas left aside, for a team touring outside subcon after 2 years...playing against a formidable opposition, without ANY match practice, on rigged surfaces, they acquitted themselves well.

 

India had a winning position in the first test, and our sloppiness in the field cost the 2nd test.

 

Kohli has to figure out his best XI and stick with it. He's bold enough to try different players, and I have no issues dropping a series here if it helps india identify a better lineup for the upcoming tours. It'll be worth it.

Kohli is brilliant at it, remember how many people doubted Bumrah?

Our tailenders showed more spine against morkel rabada and ngidi than elgar did. Hats off to them despite being a dead rubber. They are going for the kill.

Truly great effort. Up there with the best I have seen. 

 

This team must keep reviewing Ewing the last session on day 4. They will learn that it is possible to get the opposition on the mat even on their conditions if you ride through tough times. It’s weird how much of cricket is psychological game.
