in the middle order.....  this was a golden chance to test as to whether Karun   could be that  replacement  for that proven hack  Pujara.

Karun is a brilliant player of spin , WI is not a very high ranked team etc etc .... so  would be  such a great oppertunity to test him. But , what can be said of our selectors??? First Karun, now rejecting him and giving Mayank oppertunity. Infact Mayank needed  to be provided that oppertunity   long  before he turned 25.

    Very strange how a player  of test statndard can have 2 opinions about a player within few months. 

    May be you will see Rohit as a veto candidate of Virat for Aussie tour? 

     Dada himself vetoed for Kumble in 2004  Aus tour and fought for 6 hours in meeting .

I am really disappointed at not seeing Saini in the team.

 

Apart from Bumrah ... Saini is the only other genuine fast bowler we have who can bowl a very high percentage of deliveries in the right areas in 5 day games.   (  Shami too is genuinely quick but bowls a lot more boundary balls compared to Saini.  )

 

Shardul must be very good at making cocktails for Shastri during the day.

--   Why  does Shardul keep getting selected although captains don't show much confidence in playing him  !   He has been part of most test squads for the last 2 years ... but is yet to play a test.  Is it not clear yet that captains are not comfortable playing him in a test  !

 

--  An explanation about why Nair is dropped without getting any game this year ...  although he is a test triple centurion ...  would be nice. Not saying it is a bad decision necessarily.  If he does not have the game to succeed away from home then no point in grooming him at home.   

 

But is that the case  ?   I would like to know.

his competition is with Vihari. Vihari wins because of bowling and age. But Nair never got his full run after 300. This is unexcusable.

144k bowled in a 4 day game, seam movement both ways . What more do they expect. Cant undrestand why is Shradul still there. This is a test bowler..i dont think he is much behind Siraj.
