What an impressive performance from Umesh Yadav

He may have been a dissappointment in recent time becuase it felt like he underachieves.

 

He may never fulfill his true potential.

 

He will fail again.

 

But when was the last time an Indian Pacer picked up a 10-fer when India played 3 front line spinners. Who was the last pacer to pick up even 5 wickets with this combination? Heck other pacer only bowled 10 balls in the entire match. 

 

This thread is not to say Umesh will fulfill his potential but to simply highlight his wonderful performance in this match.

well played Umesh ... still  he should be the least preferred seamer, i mean if either  no other option is available  or the conditions typically suits his bowling. Lots of talented youngsters like Siraj, Khaleel  ,Kamlesh etc are waiting in the wings

A bowler who single-handedly broke the norms like 'Indians can't bowl fast' he has been bowling fast for morethan 7 years now, although has lost pace a bit recently but nevertheless is our best reverse swing bowler at the moment even better than shami.

Have always liked and supported his bowling since the day he started his career, would still say he is an underachiever with the talent he had.

I will never judge anybody else apart from newbies like Pant and Prithvi from this series because this is just a useless stat booster on the end.

After this performance Umesh is a must for tests at home. Siraj is ready for tests he should be selected for the Aus tour.  Khaleel is good for the shorter formats. Nagarkoti is still raw. Him and Mavi are the future of Indian fast bowling.

We Have Some Good Prospects Coming Up.Ishant Will Have Come Serious Competition from likes of tall bowlers like Avesh Khan and Ankit Rajpoot.Umesh will have competition from Saini both are skiddy and swing it away.Siraj will push Shami.

Umesh will always a underchiever but very happy with his performance today. Will always support him and Aaron as they encouraged a few young Indian fast bowlers to bowl quick.

In England, he was kicked out of team due to having one bad spell in first match. I feel he should have played second test match on that green mamba.

I will never forgive Kohli for not playing Umesh in CT final despite him taking 3 wkts against Pakistan in the tournament opener. That was an unpardonable mistake.

yes... with his experience he can  definitely  be utilized,especially at home. It is in places like AUS that he is lagging by a long way.

I always felt yadav was unlucky he was not under kohli earlier. By the time kohli came his confidence was destroyed, he was confused by so many instructions and more than half his career over. A young yadav under kohli was a mouth watering prospect

Srinath bowled some great spells though from what I remember .... vs SA, vs Pak, .... and used to set it up nicely for the spinners by picking up early wkts
