No one wants Dhoni to come back in T20s. But we do compare players, captains cross era, don't we? We compared Ganguly with Dhoni, Sachin with KOhli etc. all the time. This thread is a testimony that we have gone from a superb LOI skipper and settled for mediocrity.

Actually pretty much everyone here agrees Rohit as a captain > Virat as a captain in shorter formats. Kohli proved it with RCB also with Indian side. There is no secret there. He is a captain by inevitability rather he is good at it

Dhoni lost T20 series in Eng and SA without winning a game but Kohli won the T20 series in both the places, has had a run of being undefeated in 9 T20 series. What exactly does this prove?

I think we won the one off T20 in 2010 and lost ODI 3-2 in 2013 it was 3 Odis and 2 Test matches.

Sunil Gavaskar won the world championship in Australia in 1985 :)

Guess the man of the series :giggle:

Srikkkanth deserved it more. This moron just to get that Audi car played super slowly to get to his 50 in the final.  IT was a combination of everyone. L Siva, Kapil, Azhar, Srikkanth. Because he was called "all rounder" he got it.

Fair critisim but there were two passengers in this team. Moreover the team played close but your point is valid too.

I dnt see any passeneger this side, apart from Manish on bench i dnt see much wrong with this squad .

We had passengers in that side to

Dhoni - not a good a t20 player

Jadeja- not a good t20 player

yuvi- done n dusted

Dhawan - not a good t20 player back then

But actually all clicked n did well as a team then and dhoni did use his bowler well, specially someone like yuvi was used to get maxwell out in all 3 games.

Only thing I remember about Dhoni from that t20 series is him coming before Yuvraj in first 2 matches when Kohli and Rohit had already set up target just to hit few soft runs while sent Yuvraj chasing 200 ahead of himself and not to forget that epic choke of Canberra ODI-got out for 0 coming at 278/2..

Jokes aside, there's a good chance that Kohli may end up losing this T20 series because of him selecting Krunal over Chahal and dropping himself to #4. You need your wicket taking bowlers and your best batsmen to face the most deliveries to win a series.

At the moment he's not doing both.

Man of the series was Virat Kohli. Somehow, Dhoni gets credit for the win ?

So who is stopping Kohli the captain to NOT Win the series and become Man of Series now?
