All rounder for an all rounder, or at least the team sees Jadeja as an all rounder. He'd replaced Pandya in the Asia Cup as well.  

 

Clear that other than Pandya and Shankar, there is no other seam bowling all rounder on selector's radar.

i knw but this may provide shankar more chances in XI to stake his claim for Wc. For me Shankar is also a batsman who can bowl

Neither can be considered all rounder I would say. Totally agree about Pandya not being good enough 5th bowler. Atleast one thing going for Shankar is, he seems like a genuine batsman. If he can establish himself as a dependable batsman at 4th or 5th spot, it will do him a lot of good. I personally think the lad lacks confidence. Other than that, he does have some talent.

I was hoping for some fireworks by Pandya in India .... Appears as if his “luck” is such that he misses out on playing in easy series and plays in the relativly difficult ones

That man gets a boner for all rounder and Shankar has not been asked to bowl a bit. The spot should go to a third opener like Agarwal.
