Having stayed in Chennai and around parts for few years, the connect to Tamilians is only possible through someone who evokes Tamil culture. Rajnikanth in my opinion can and will swing this state. I think he is waiting for right opportunity.

Tamilians are not Hindus business. Now even some south karnataka people are claiming that kannadigas are dravidians and Kannada is a dravidian language. They are starting a anti -samskrita movement to ban samskrita words from kannada and are pushing to use Kannada equivalent ones. Does it ring a bell? back at you!
