I think ipl has made fans disillusioned. Sometimes I come into ICF and think ,has the game changed so much,and our understanding of the game is wtong? Today was an worn track,in no way a 350 pitch. Shambolic batting and excellent bowling has proved my words. Many are as disillusioned as the eng team management. Ind batting is not great,and may make us suffer later, but it is now doing the job. Should support our team more.

The pitch was variable bounce. Does anyone see that or just complain. How was it not obvious the total was good midway ?

Except for Virat everyone one else has played slowly in last 2 matches .

I think jadhav and VS inspire no confidence. Dhoni at least will not get out, but can't accelerate from get go, but can hold up one end till end overs which might be required in some cases. I think pant/DK for Vijay Shankar is a decent compromise.  And let's hope rahul regains some confidence. Jadhav is batting/ bowling insurance which we don't want to use .. necessary evil. If only we tried nitish Rana earlier .

Scoring 300 in every match ,especially in crunch WC matches, is not a God given mandate.thats all I want to say.if you are very harsh, ind was 12 below par at max.

I would play pant in the middle.kedar jadav has won India matches before. He should be trusted. Look at his strike rate avg fir God's sake.avg player, but best we have. Shankar, is an experiment which should stop.pant even is no guarantee.  He throws his wicket away. But yes, give him chances now, esp if we beat eng.

I agree, we did not bat the best, but its not the best day to judge Dhoni, but then there is also this group of fans who go for crazy support for Thaka whenever Thala unleashes few sixes in the end to bring the strike rate back to close to 100 forgetting that he might have cost wickets on the other end when he has been sitting in the 70ish sr during crucial death overs. Believe it or not, it does put pressure on other bats. I play cricket enough and have noticed enough that, there is one thing called "holding an end" and other being extremely slow, which can put pressure on the other end.

 

Dhoni has been a class player for India over the years, he currently has gone into his shell, and its been a while now. His today's knock wasn't the worst of the series which we have seen. Probably a decent knock today, but it still had those moments where you could see him defending every ball. Today Pandua clicked with him, not every day Pandua will click and we could be in seriously trouble then. 

 

Both parties need to realize the above fact.

I agree with all your points. Let's just hope it wont come to that because of slow batting, we lose in knock outs. Dhoni is an all time great but overstayed. He is right now still the best option with this 15, as karthik has failed in odis many times and pant is untested and prone to rash shots.

Well said....ex: today thala inning looked decent as he lasted till final over to hit his quota sixes and pandya never let the run rate slips in last 10 overs. But against afg he got out after wasting so many balls. Additionally though he covered up but he put lot of pressure on kohli and kohli eventually succumbed to the pressure.

Will once again say can't risk playing VS,Jadhav and Dhoni together

VS,Jadhav are not bowling ,we should restrict the sixth bowling option to one

Rahul is not in flow,but isn't absolutely bad either,we are thin on batting so it requires Rahul to be extra careful,only complain with him is he has got to starts but hasn't converted any of those into hundreds or big hundreds,

If Bhuvi is fit,we shouldn't sacrifice Shami that would be unforgiving sin,cant do that have Bhuvi in ,he is on par with VS with the bat

That way we can have our all five wicket taking options

But VS/Jadhav need to go
