It could even be argued that this move is to protect Rishabh from going down the Parthiv Patel track.   Keeping to spinners in India is not easy.   A few mistakes and the heat on Pant would be crazy, not to mention the risk of knocking out his confidence and derailing his long-term development.

I'm not arguing this mind you - just pointing out that this argument exists.  This entire Rishabh saga has been extremely mishandled by the management.  Because even if you wanted to bench him for test cricket, there was still no justification for the big PR smears on him over the last few weeks.

I don’t think neither Kohli or Shastri have such level of foresight.

At this point it just sounds like you playing the devil’s advocate just for the sake of it

just wonder what is  going thru the head of these f*****g morons!!!!!!!!! Aren't  they purposefully doing these sort of pure non senses   for some selfish motives at the cost of team fortunes?? This is getting frustrating for the fans by the day.... High time these frauds need to be held accountable....Can't allow this to go on  and on at the expense of the emotions of crores of fans across the nation.BTW why are these  former stars like Sachin,Gavaskar, Kapil, Sourav, Sehwag, Kumble,Bhajji,Sehwag, Gambhir,Zaheer, Vengsarkar  etc etc keeping mum  towards the actions of these plain frauds?? It is so bizzare that these people are keeping silent despite ordinary fans  showing their frustrations with utmost intensity....

I'm attempting to understand what is going on and why its being done, without jumping to silly TV soap opera conclusions.

But you do you.  ICF cured you of your foolishness in loudly proclaiming your acumen after a few dozen slaps over the years.  There's every chance of further improvement.  I'm an optimist, I believe anyone can improve!

Karma will soon bite back Kohli and Shastri. Such autocratic decisions will only bite them back and could soon singe their rotten regime.

I'll not be surprised if SA draw this Test series or even thrash us in tests. The TM is busy castigating a youngster.

Curse the day this guy became our captain.

He should go to hell!!

This is bloody evil, I am genuinely losing the love of cricket. Not because of underperformance but because the wrong teams are being selected.

Do not take this circus too emotionally. Indian cricket is not worth following under the Kohli regime.

That is why he is out.

The insecure power hungry kohli knows he is good and popular.

They are slowly destroying Indian cricket for a generation this is their legacy.

I hate to say this, I actually do want Kohli to fail with the bat, he has lost me as a supporter.

In Australia, Pant is highly respected and praised for his efforts in the last test series. He became a very popular figure he, admired and respected.

This is absolute madness. To score well in Australia, these are the batsmen that have proved they can handle all conditions.

Don't really care, hope people don't hate on Saha over this reason, he adds immense value to this side especially on Indian pitches. Like both of them actually, poor Pant but Saha has been through a lot the last couple of years, not entirely his fault, just bad luck. Ace keeper, I can't seem to remember exact details but when he was in the XI he went through 11-12 test matches without spilling a single chance, he is an outstanding keeper or at least was back then. Pant is good enough to warrant a place as pure batsman, but my earlier theories about Kohli have been proved correct. Pant is the future, Saha is what 35? Even as a Saha fan, I want youth to prevail, no one can fight age. Just hope he has a sweet send off and then gets accumulated into the NCA programs as coach/mentor.

I don't think any one blames Saha here. The anger is directed towards the way the clowns are running Indian cricket. The clowns aka Axis of evil- Dhoni+Kohli+Shastri

If that were the case, they could have found a place for Pant as a batsman.  As a test batsman, he has certainly earned it unlike opener Sharma.  Open with Saha, let Pant bat after Vihari and it's all good.

This is true.  They should've found a place for Saha the keeper and Pant the batsman.  It doesn't have to be either/or.

Pretty much this ,do not invest your time and energy too much on these bozos.

Actually in reality the game of cricket is becoming boring and sedate ,especially with these random bilaterals .

Too much of cricket has actually killed the game.

Better to invest your emotions and time to some other sports or maybe something else

I haven't been through all the posts, Indian cricket makes me sick these days, saw Saha on thread title and clicked. It is only natural that some fans may take out their bhadaas on Saha, put him down to show Pant in good light etc. My post was for them, not the rational and sensible guys . Spanner in works is the axis of evil which you rightly identified, hope more people see through their facade. If social media is any guide, we have gone to the point of no return.

Please don’t leave the cricket section, we haven’t seen a patented Gollum rant on Kohli+ Shastri :)
