Let kuldeep play in chinna, he will stop playing cricket. It's Chahal's strong mental aspect that he has done so well despite playing in chinna. See what happened to Kuldeep, started crying between the match. Kkr had to drop him. Kuldeep has a lot of time and has age on his side but needs to  improve and he knows where he has to improve.

I think Moeen Ali’s assault in chinna is what started the whole set of problems

I think Pandya is fine for t20 as the 3d seamer. Don’t need either Shami or Khaleel.

Bumrah,Bhuvi,Pandya,Sundar,Chahal and Jadeja/Dube is good enough

Rahul (wk), Rohit, Virat, Mayank/Iyer, SKY/Pandey, Sundar, Hardik, Gopal, Chahar, Bumrah, Chahal

6 bowling options. batting till 9. more importantly, all of the top 7 can score at SR of 130-140. only issue is that we generally lack players who can score at 150+ SR apart from hardik. dube looks like an inferior version of hardik at the moment. nitish rana is promising and can be swapped perhaps for sundar. krunal and jaddu are hacks for t20 format. padikkal has begun well, but is mostly inexperienced and untested. harshal patel has been doing well as an AR, but he is domestic bully.

I would now replace Bhuvi or Chahar with Saini in the squad. You don't need two medium pace swing bowlers on Australian pitches. If Bhuvi is out, I would encourage H Pandya to bowl the death overs and since it will be along with Bumrah and since he has good variations he should do well. It's only the fastish wrist spinners who seem to do well in Oz so there's no question of playing the pair of Kulcha together. I agree with the TMs approach here. Better to go with W Sundar than R Jadeja. .

On the batting front, amazed how long SKY has to wait.  Padikkal should be tried first even before Gill or Mayank or Samson.

Squad based on today's information ( may change later )

Openers ----

Rohit

Rahul

Samson (  backup for middle order too )

Middle-order batsmen ----

Kohli

Iyer

Pant ( wk )

Batting all-rounders ----

Hardik

Sundar

Dube

Pacers ----

Bumrah

Bhuvi / Chahar

Saini

Prasidh / Shami

Spinners ----

Kuldeep

Chahar

---- No point taking more than 1 medium paced swing bowler to Australia.  Must have atlesst 3 pacers with pace and bounce.

----  Samson can be back up for 1 to 5

----  Rahul or Samson are backup keepers.

----  Dube is backup for 6 or 7

----  Prasidh / Shami is backup pacer

----  Prasidh has to perform in T20Is and the IPL to be eligible.

----  Chahal is backup spinner.

----  Need to play 3 specialist pacers plus Hardik. Hardik should not be the 3rd pacer.

My first playing XI would be

Rohit

Rahul

Kohli(c)

Iyer

Pant(wk)

Pandya

Sundar

Chahar

Saini

Kuldeep

Bumrah

Squad: Samson, Jadeja, Chahal, Prasidh

I don't like Shami to be exposed too much in the LOI format. Also Chahar gives me more confidence than Bhuvi with recent performances and seems to handle pressure situations better. Jadeja is more of an allrounder than Dube. We haven't seen much of Dube's bowling. Seems to me he is the bowler with fast medium balls disappearing into the stands in Aussie conditions. Samson can also be a replacement for Iyer too. Iyer has shown weakness against short pitch bowling. In such a case, Kohli should move to no.4 and allow Samson to play at no.3
