SK_IH
You are absolutely right & this kind of ordinary performances & inconsistencies in team/players has led to non-existent fan base. You ll see captain-coach changing next year as well.

zen
These franchises are made up of various Ranji teams .... Do not know which Ranji teams (regional players) constitute K11, but maybe consider a change in location and name in the hope of changing its fortunes
maniac
Owners doesn’t have the patience. Teams like CSK, MI do well because they have had pretty much the same core since inception, they know their strengths and weaknesses and plug the holes. Obviously CSK has taken it too far and are washed up now. Even teams SRH punch above their weight regularly because they have the same core players. SRH has mediocre talent bar Warner,Bairstow,Rashid,Nabi,Williamson and Bhuvi, what sets them below CSK and MI is as you can see their core has 5 foreign players and hardly any Indian talent. RR is decent with player management as well. RCB too has a good core and they did manage a couple of finals. Rest don’t have any player they can build their franchise around. Delhi has been on the right path recently. punjabi_khota
The Realist
Depends on the metric. In terms of money looking at transfer fees and wages it has to be RCB as they have burnt cash getting nowhere. Stan AF

Straight Drive
I guess Punjab, RCB and Delhi have never won IPL. Those must be worst 3. Stan AF
Stan AF
All three northern franchises (DD, RR, KXIP) have been shite for a better part of a decade or so and merely existed to give points to MI, CSK, KKR and SRH and helped them qualify for playoffs. In Case of RR the ban didn't help them either. CSK's head to head with some of these franchisees(RCB included) is astounding actually it's downright laughable. I'm not going to write DC a blank cheque now either as they have done better last year and this year. They have a history of faltering spectacularly in playoffs. They have to win the cup this year or else it is back to the kid's table. They have to do a MI of 2013 basically. If they do that they will graduate to the big boys. RCB have made it to 4 finals and i honestly think all the fault is with Sooper V. Hope he grows a conscience and drops himself as a captain if they don't win this year. I mean, common it's been 8 years now. Time to let go bugger. You're just not fit for the job. Vk1 and Mariyam

nevada
Lost a couple of winnable games and it's been all downhill ever since. I think they should keep their core intact and not make too many changes for next year.
