Shubman Gill impressive

Disclaimer: I have not seen every single good knock. Saw only highlights of some knocks. Lot of good knocks were aided by atrocious bowling like Pandya receiving 3 full tosses on his way to 60. Sanju was good in parts. KL Rahul also had share of his lives. But of all the people Gill looks very impressive. Especially that six against Shami was the best i have seen in this edition. Hope he finds a spot in the Indian squad. Talent like him should be given enough chances to prove.

There is no doubt he looks the most composed among all Indian youngsters. He handles high pace comfortably and spin also. He can be in the ODI lineup so that he can play longer innings and develop more range of strokes and confidence. He should be thankful to KKR for showing so much confidence in him. They have shuffled the opening slot umpteen times but he always opens.

Gill is not a good T20 batsman yet.  He is a classical batsman who takes a bit of time to get set and wants to play proper cricketing shots.

But his ability and talent is amazingly good against quality bowling, be it pace or spin. He has a lot of time to play genuine pace, is never hurried, seems to read spinners well and when he hits, it looks so effortless and powerful.

Those twin 6s that he hit against a rampaging Shami bowling accurately at 140 to 144 ... or that powerful front foot pull off Arshdeep ...or the big 6s off spinners  ... the power and ease were amazing.

Gill has the ability to be a very very impressive test match and ODI batsman.

Look, this guy has struggled this IPL but technically there's no better batsman among the future prospects. Beautiful footwork, sweet swing of the bat and good head on shoulders. What else does a coach need to work with? He's going to get more power as he ages. Time for debut in both tests and ODIs. Keep him out of T20Is for now.

Sneaky kannadiga sneaking in the mental midget KL among giants like Dhawan, Mayank (northie for all purposes).

Watch how Shaw urinates past KL's simp face in a matter of 12 months.

Respect the new national Vice-Captain of India.  Mayank is a kannadiga, talks fluent kannada, might have written kannada poems for all we know, KL calls him Louda out of love. You can't call him a naarthie, bhau.  Shaw is meanwhile looking like a junior portly Ravi mama, hardly a threat to KL.

Look man. Only reason why Mayank and Manish have bothered to learn a beta language like kannadiga (lmao) is because they need to own the dressing room like the alpha northies they are. Cannot have those bunch of kannadiga betas chatting smack behing their backs. Apparently even Manish's kannada wife prefers her husband to talk dirty in Hindi because it sounds manlier.

Let me school you. Kannada is the language, Kannadiga is the person/one who lives in Karnataka. So, go figure.
