coffee_rules Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) In dono ka katti chal raha hain kya? Rohit will not travel with the team and will join only for the test series. While. Kohli will play first test , go on PL and then will not come back to Australia for the remaining tests. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/30295970/rohit-sharma-not-join-india-squad-australia-test-series Quote On November 9, the eve of the IPL final, the BCCI said in a media release that Rohit would feature in the Test series, but was being rested for the limited-overs leg of the Australia tour to "regain full fitness". It is now expected that Rohit will undergo his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and, once he passes a fitness test, head to Australia ahead of the Test series, which begins in Adelaide on December 17 Kohli unlikely to return to Australia post paternity leave It is also understood that India captain Virat Kohli will not rejoin the Test squad in the New Year once he returns to India on paternity leave following the first Test. Kohli and his partner Anushka Sharma are expecting their first child around early January, so he requested the BCCI to release him after the Adelaide Test, which will the India's maiden overseas day-night Test and is scheduled from December 17 to 21. India ko bohot padnewaali hain, because of their tussle. And Rahane is the VC! Will captain 3 tests Edited November 12, 2020 by coffee_rules

He says "should", and you read it as "will". Anyhow, it all depends if Rohit gets match fitness, until he plays an ODI, how will BCCI know that he will be match fit? Adamant Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Rohit Sharma captaining india in tests will be a humiliating moment for us. The guy averages less than bhuvneshwar Kumar away from home. Pujara should be the captain, Rahane doesn't even deserve a position in the test side. coffee_rules, zen, tweaker and 5 others 8

He is not a captaincy material at all.

May be for you but the whole world acknowledges him as one of the finest cricketing brains and leaders in the world today and as far as his batting in tests goes, some of the biggest ATG’s of the game including domestic and international ATG’s have said that it’s only a matter of time before some records start tumbling from Rohits bat in tests and have expressed surprise why he hasn’t got a more consistent run like he did in LOI’s where he is one of the G.O.A.T’s sage, raki05, Cricketics and 3 others 2 2 1 1

Have you seen his batting in tough conditions? Yes he is one of the ATG openers in odis no doubt about it but we should never mix formats, test is a totally different game. Actually that lazy elegance is what costs him the most in test, you need to have quick hands to react to a late swing or seam. He is not made for test cricket away from home. Actually the first requirement from a captain is that he should be an automatic selection in the team which i don't think rohit is. Rahane will be a better candidate than rohit
Suhaan Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Rahane being VC doesn't matter when Rohit is in test squad and Virat is not playing Its common sense ,Rohit is a collasal figure in Indian cricket ,he has poor red ball record so be it but won't be let to be a sidekick to Rahane

There is no mystery about Rohit's batting if ball swings or seams even little bit he is a sitting duck. To captain the team you need to earn your place in starting eleven first.
Vickydev Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) Pujara will be eaten alive if he is the captain. Without Kohli he will be the most crucial, dont wanna see extra pressure on the man Edited November 12, 2020 by Vickydev

Rightarmfast Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) I dont think Pujara or Rahane has that kind of effect on the team members. Shami commands more respect from the team than either of them. The closest to a captaincy material is Rohit, and he has not performed in tests yet. Who would have thunk team India would be so badly prepared for the all important Aussie tour. Edited November 13, 2020 by Rightarmfast AuxiliA 1
Gollum Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) Captain should first be an automatic starter in the XI...in all 4 test matches. That rules out experienced players like Rahane, Rohit, KLR, Ashwin, Jadeja, Saha, even quicks for that matter since who knows whether they will be available for all the matches. Gill, Shaw, Vihari are sill raw.....that leaves us with Pujara, Mayank. Make Che the captain, Mayank his deputy and anyway I think the quicks and other seniors will chip in with advice since Che isn't a domineering personality and most of our players are pretty down to earth and not much ego in the camp (looks that way from the outside). All good, decentralize the leadership responsibilities on-field and help each other, by God do they need to stick together during this tough tour and overburdening Che will definitely affect his main role which is batting for hours and hours. Captaincy is the least of our worries right now, if we win a couple of tosses captain has done more than an adequate job....don't expect Chankya moves and Gorilla chest pounding on the field, just basic common sense and a sense of calm. Kohli the batsman will be missed, our batting looks associate level (for those conditions against that attack with wounds of NZ still fresh!!!!!) tbh, hope a couple of them have the series of their lives, just hope. What Aussies did in their previous home season, if they repeat that even a ROTW XI with enough preparation will find it tough. No expectations from this depleted side sans FC experience for a long time, hope they surprise us, 'nothing to lose' mentality in sports sometimes throws up unexpected results. Gollum Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) Ishant is almost as big a miss as Kohli. Now watch the clowns play Umesh in 1st 3 tests and after he goes at 7 rpo and 80+ bowling avg, bring Saini in 4th test. If Bumrah/Shami get injured Umesh will play all tests and Smith will score 1000 runs alone. Edited November 13, 2020 by Gollum
Gollum Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Shastri the coach will have zero contribution, at least with Hesson/Moody in charge selection/tactics/prep would have been better.
Lone Wolf Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 I think Rohit is a sure shot starter so making him Captain won't be that bad. Anyhow watch out for the performance in 1st test if Rahane fails & Rohit does well then it won't be such a hard choice. Mayank also makes a decent case of a Vice Captain.. This tour will be Big for him as well.
zen Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Like the idea of Pujara as captain Also the toughest Indian batsman to dismiss - Shami coffee_rules 1
Norman Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Lol I took "katti" for something else. Had to do a double take. Jimmy Cliff 1
