third test will be in sydney where we play with two spinners. so neither umesh nor S's will play. Saini might finally be selected for the debut in Gabba match where aussies have the strongest record in last 30 years and then chucked aside immediately for the easy home series. And then Umesh will be in the squad again in england tour and will play 2 tests because conventional wisdom says so.. rinse and repeat.

If Umesh fails in Adelaide pink ball test, the one match where bowlers have best conditions.. he should be dropped for the second match. And we should also not pick him for home series and instead look to groom new pacers

Look i tell you ,no one has taken this into account

Umesh lost pace from mid 2017 onwards .He has been doing good at home ,from there on he has bowled against SA,SL,WI,BD with his dropped pace

So basically it remains to be seen if he can carry his rich form at home with his current pace against teams like Aus,Eng and NZ and im quite certain he will be as toothless at home as he has been overseas

Full credit to him for his efforts at home but has been playing a sidekick to the unrelenting pressure duo of Ashwin & Jaddu

So no harm if we completely move on from Umesh otherwise you won't even try youngsters at home, or they must wait untill the pathetic duo of Bevda & joker retire

Would you rather completely move on from Umesh or give a youngster a chance, get rid of him after a couple of failures and then go back to Umesh?

He has been picked as your 1st back up. Woth Ishant’s absence he stakes a claim as being the most experienced fast bowler in the Indian team. Why would you not play a guy like that first? It’s a different thing if Saini and Siraj are in red hot form coming in or during the series.

Basically what you are saying is seniority matters. Umesh has bowled terribly with the Kookabura and Duke's every single time. Taking 2-3 wickets in a practice match does not change that fact. Every single away tour has been the same story - does okay in one of the practice matches and bottles it in the Tests - latest being the last NZ test or the Perth test on the last tour.

If the TM still bets on a highly erratic old seamer and not an unproven seamer, it's the team's loss

He is trolling Ian.  It will be a master-stroke move to now pick Siraj.  The Ozzie batsmen will see that, realize they are not prepared for the debut bowler exam paper, lose their mojo, and the match will be half over right there.  Or something like that ...

Or he was just drunk.

I wonder which one seems the more plausible option :hmmm:

I don't think he will be next tour match as shami and bumrah will be joining the A team. And Saini didnt even get to play a tour match to see if he is better

Biggest travesty saini is suited to the test format it’s pathetic. Aus fekers want Umesh in there badly so that they can feast on him.

My advice to umesh- tu steyn nahin hai, so when u see help in pitch dnt try to swing the ball from leg to off like steyn ...stick to off stump and not short

Or bribe Aussie curators and make slow pitches so that Umesh can bowl short length.

In the Aus A game last week, Umesh 20 - 4 - 48 - 3 and Saini 24 - 5 - 83 - 3

If anything it shows Siraj is more of a spraygun.. Think both will play in 2nd warmup as well so lets see! My money is on Umesh outperforming Siraj.

Plus experience and a proven match winner . Umesh is a no brainer for me

People are just tired of seeing Umesh yadav and they are hoping that Siraj/Saini would deliver better than Umesh. That is nice but in reality are they better than Umesh? Samething is happening with Dhawan, they want Dhawan to be gone but do they have anyone better than Dhawan.

this.

I am not sure either, as bad as Umesh can be are either Saini or Siraj better than him.. not sure.

People have to understand , newcomers don't have to be better than their predecessors at start, common sense

E.g Dhawan was not Dhawan of today right at the beginning ,upgrades happen with time ,people make changes by oberserving their game, weaknesses

No one is a finished product ,and here we are talking about "the beginning",people need to understand that and stop this paxtani narrative of "tailunt"
