I was about open this thread in the Indian liberals thread.

So , an US independent body going around labeling countries, who is free or not, is gospel for you.

Their own country has companies ( Twitter) censoring their own President (Trump) and they are absolutely free. BS organization like UNHRC or UCIRF, throw them in the bin.

This organization calls A370 bad for freedom and removes J&K from India. Pakistani sponsored organization. Don’t celebrate it as it is against India. This useless organization calls India partly free,  cuts J&K and Ladakh out of India. Laanat hain to even discuss it

A dream would have come true if India would have become a torchbearer of real democracy and human rights in the region. Alas, the things are moving in the direction of negative side of Hinduism and negative side of nationalism instead, which is causing that state institutions like Police etc. and now even Judiciary have been compromised and things moved towards dictatorship and communalism.  The divide has become intensely deep in India, and the society has been extremely polarized. Hatred and fear rules the Indian society now, especially for the minorities.

Some Indians still deny these problems in the Indian society, and start blaming such International Human Right Organisations to be anti India.  I just wish that these Indians could realise that these International Organisations are not alone, but these are the People of the WESTERN  Countries also who are worried about these developments of fanatic Hindutva movement and dictatorship in India.

Although such fanatic extreme right wing movements have very strong influence upon it's supporters, but the other side of problem is this that their message is LIMITED to only their own religious base, and the don't have the ability to "UNITE" all the elements of society. In fact, all those who don't belong to their religious base, they automatically become the enemies.

BJP may rule India, but they will not get a popular vote in India, which includes non-Hindu Indians. Majority of Muslims, Sikhs and Christians will oppose them. Even small communities like Jians or Parsis also fear the rise of the fanatic Hindutva. And off course the Secular India too will always be in opposition to BJP. And now add to this the Western People too , who will also fear the fanatic Hindutva in India. Nobody likes the extremist groups.

Lame Rod at it again. BJP is coming up with a narrative of development and growth to pull people out of poverty. It has shown a good track record in last 6 years, look at dev indices of GDP, infrastructure, housing and toilets, PDS , direct deposit of subsidies into Jan dhan accounts. Others are afraid that they will lose another five years and are using their ecosystem of the west liberals and Islamists to raise HR issues. This will be detrimental as Modi will be back if they keep playing this show on the road.

ISPR is influencing such messages from these padosans. No, no other minorities are afraid of Hindus, who are getting lynched by Muslims and nobody believes this militant Hinduism narrative

They are.

They are the only country in Asia where the majority of the nation and the majoritarian culture has a decisive say in a democracy.

Not for minorities but for islamists who wont play second fiddle to hinduism in India. The days of seeking free converts are over. For the ones it isnt, they whine the most.

none of the negative sides of EUROPEAN NATIONALISM has been noted in India. No community has been liquidated by the majority or has been put under legal restrictions ala your Euro-masters own past they wanna compare us to.

people of WESTERN countries are thought moulded by the few media houses they have. Hence they idiotically believe that India has more rape than the west, when the west is by far the leader of the pack (except a few sub saharan nations and central american ones) - by a factor of 5-100 times more per capita than india.

Their human rights campaign is euphemism for allowing anti national globalist western-corporate led lobbying and stamping out globalist dalaals is lowering human rights index.

so fcuk em.

It is nowhere fanatic or extreme fanatic because 99.9% of hindu fanatics are more praceful than the top 1% of peaceful muslim scholars. That is reality, stop tarring us with your comparisons with western or islamic barbarism.

Thats what the islamists and break india forces want us to believe, Pakistani.

In a true democracy that functions well, the majority voice and culture has to remain the majority with minorities getting their proportionate share. That has never been not the case with hinduvta except for the ones who want to pick a fight with us. That would be mostly islamists, but also christians and recently, sikhs. We are unified just fine with jains and sikhs till anti-hindutva forces infiltrate them as well, as you are our enemy.

We know the game.

Learn some facts please. Bjp won more non hindu votes in India than any other party. if the abrahamics and their chamchaa sikhs with foreign funding wanna fight the hindus - ok, fight us.

and majority of people oppose the ones these minorities support, period. They are foreign born compromised half foreigners with deep links to the previous enslavers of our nation. That matters more than what a minority of humans like, largely influenced by their religious afinity and hinduphobia than national interest.

Nice propaganda work for the global masters, pakistani. We see your game. You get to talk only when we replicate one of your western masters style head tax or pogrom or you style legal disenfranchising the Ahmadiyyas.

One doesnt talk democracy to ones democratic superiors and you may care about sucking up to western democracies as the benchmark- but we dont. THeir constitutions are worse and poorer in form, their legal mechanisms are more antiquated and their version of corruption is only when they dont get to peddle their liberal ideology overseas - yet they will stamp down on nationalistic ideologies of india in their lands in a show of illiberal authoritarianism. then pretend to be free-er.

You may care for such rankings, we dont.

Thats coz we dont see ourselves as existing to become the west or live as their pet, like your nation does.

People vastly over estimate the influence of the USA. They couldn't administer a succesful regime change in Afghanistan. You think they'd be succesful in India?

That said, I don't know if we are any more free than we were in 2005. That is hardly relevant; what some foreign rating agency has to say about our society.

However, it is a reality that we have a lot of work to do as a society on the 'freedom' front. Yes, we aren't as bad as our Western and Northern neighbours, but we have our moments of stifling opposing viewpoints.

It’s all relative, this introspection. On the last sentence, let’s talk specifics . How is opposition stifled, at least after 2014 for the discussion?

What opposition?

I said opposing viewpoints. Can be within the party too.

This isn't a political problem only. Don't get why you are quick to jump on to the BJP 2014 vs before comparison here.  That distinction is only in your mind. As if overnight India has turned magically liberal/progressive/tolerant. It hasn't. These things take time.

As a small example, recently a 'comedian' was jailed for over a month for jokes he didn't crack. In fact arrested before his show began. Some of his colleagues/show organisers were held for even longer. He had to be released only after the SC stepped in and have him released.

We've had land records disappear and later falsified in the DLF land grab case! Lower courts using these obviously falsified documents to rule in favour of DLF and putting gag orders on the original land holders.

Victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy have been systematically silenced since the mid 80s.

One could go on.

Harder India doubles down on its dharmic roots, louder will be the moans from Globalists, Islamists and Evangelists . Should not care at all.

That's why I said India has truly been free since 2014.

Time to start rewriting the history books ..literally

That boat has sailed. I know these leftist are trying to find some ways to corner the government here. But they must re-invent. From church attacks to lynchings to university unrest to CAA natak to farmer's drama to divider in chief.

I think it is getting predictable. The narrative is not finding traction. One thing people of India are good at atleast for now. Is to see the reality as they see outside their window.
