SKy is possibly the most valuable Indian batsman at the moment. Number 5. Can pull games away from oppositions in few overs. Clown would be ultra stupid to dent him at this juncture. Here's a guy we've been waiting since Yuvraj was done in 2011. Please for god's sake let him be and don't show any ill intent towards him. He will win us crunch matches!

Batted at 3 in England T20Is, exposed Clown's safety first approach.

 

No wonder he was pushed down to number 5 yesterday and in the ODIs. He will have a far bigger impact at 3 in LOIs. But that'll mean clown moving down to 4 (unless he drops Rohit, like he did in Aus and vs Eng for a couple of games) and decides to open with his buddy Dhawan) , something he hasn't been comfortable with. He will do everything possible to derail SKY

Sky is so versatile. he can be either 3/4/5. Just play him consistently! Clown needs to understand he needs the right personnel to win him tournaments. I'm somehow sure we'll 'lose' Sky in the next few months.

Of course. As SKY can't be faulted for his work ethic and fitness, expect source based stories about his 'attitude' in the media. 

 

If he was not asked to go to UK, he would have travelled to UAE with the MI squad in the 1st week of September and will go into IPL without playing much cricket for nearly two months.

I for once think that selecting Sky isn't actually a blunder, we don't have any other middle order replacement in our test  team apart from Vihari who himself hasn't done much, but let's see how it turns out. 

I would have have preferred Bhuvi ahead of Surya though.

Injury & replacement updates - India’s Tour of England, 2021

All-rounder Washington Sundar had taken an injection on his right-hand bowling finger. However, his recovery will take longer than expected and he is not bowling-fit. He is ruled out of the remainder of the tour. 

Fast bowler Avesh Khan suffered a blow to his left thumb on Day 1 of the warm-up game. He was taken for an X-Ray and the result confirmed a fracture. A specialist was consulted for further management of his injury. He is ruled out of India’s Tour of England.  

Opening batsman Shubman Gill sustained a developing stress reaction on his left lower leg (shin) during the World Test Championship final. This was confirmed via an MRI scan. He is ruled out of the tour and has returned back to India.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has recovered from COVID-19 with two negative RT-PCR tests. He has begun his preparations for the upcoming Test series after clearance from the BCCI Medical Team.

Bowling coach B. Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran have completed their self-isolation in London and have now joined Team India in Durham.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav as replacements.

Kohli is like a child wanting toys.. Always looks for what he doesn't have, wants to take other kid's toys (read players from the squad to SL), instead of trying to make the best use of the toys that he already has (squad to England)
