Why such a long break?

Having withdrawal symptoms. Must have Test cricket . 9 days is unusually long. Earlier, we would have tour games in this break to iron out playing 11 or niggle somebody out. Instead, we are served with stories of new hairstyles of our cricketing heroes 

 

Next test is on Aug 25, next Wednesday!

Although I have become addicted to Test matches featuring India nowadays .. it is good that there is a decent gap.

 

We would enjoy it much more when fully recuperated Bumrah and Siraj bowl flat out in the 3rd test.

Normally 5 test series have a major break like this in the middle often after T3, giving the tourists a warm-up game in between to try out replacements, rest primary players etc.  

 

But yes, massive withdrawal symptoms after a great test  match!

On another note, do you think we can beat England away after losing toss if they had stokes available? Stokes imo is their second best player after root. 

 

Bowling isn't really compromised tbh. Most of their trundlers are good at home. Even Curran who got found out this series was the reason behind our series defeat in 2018. 

 

Wood averages better than Archer at home etc. Broad is washed up. Ollie btw averages 21 at home. 

 

So imo stokes is the differentiator. 

 

Would we have won test 2 had he played after losing toss? I guess we also missed shardul for balance but ishant dint disappoint himself although shardul may have batted better. Shardul perhaps would have taken those wickets earlier as he has a knack of taking crucial wickets in the middle of play as witness vs australia and in England during game 1. That could have resulted in England scoring under 270 ish which would have been a massive boost for india. 

 

I dont believe we would have beaten England with stokes in game 2 because shardul dint play. He adds more balance to the team.

I think they wanted to coincide the test with the late August bank holiday weekend.
