BS tactics - no one with half a brain cell would justify the hour or 1.5 hours of play after tea!

 

Timid approach on last day - Certain passages of play were riveting but overall we looked scared of losing this game from last session of 4th day, even as I've said tens of times chasing in India is the hardest job in cricket!

 

Anyone saying during the second session that NZ would chase this down need to take cricketing lessons, watch 1000's of hours of footage across the globe - chasing on last day is never easy, against India in India at Kanpur is near impossible!

 

We needed more over - at least 15 ideally.

 

NZ wasted overs deliberately, it was a clear tactic on day 4 - they should be docked points. *ing fake nice guy KW cannot be allowed to get away with it.

 

Lastly Bahane - * off & retire, take Pujara, No balls & Stiff neck with you 

 

Dravid if you weren't involved in  yesterday's late declaration, which is impossible btw, you need to get your head checked.

 

Dravid isn't some tactical genius as his fans would like to believe, he was in fact ultra conservative himself - Eng 3rd test 2007, we should've won but Dravid decided to bat again & scored some 12 off 100(?) to play the most ridiculous innings! Eng drew that test easily.

Some more, taking new ball 5 overs too late 

Most importantly - 5 wickets for 60 odd runs in this ridiculous pitch that made  our batters to be more conservative.

We have too many passengers who don't perform . NZ drawing a Test Match without any rains speaks volume of the ineptness of some of our bowlers who are playing for no good reason.

2.  Pedestrian bowling from Indian pacers .... This wasn't a rank turner and the spinners needed some help from the pacers. 

 

But we saw Ishant bowling without any swing or pace and very little bounce. Did not pick a single wicket in the match.

 

Umesh, apart from the 2nd session on day 5, lacked intensity and pace. Just 2 wickets in the match. 

 

Old and tired pacers won't do. We need Bumrah. Siraj and Prasidh. 

 

3. Consistent poor batting by Rahane and Pujara 

 

4. Dravid has been very conservative as a coach so far.

Saha & Axar got 67 from 20.4 overs once Iyer was dismissed, don't think they batted like the ship stabilizer. Neither of them is an established bat or anything close to confidently score fast & declare. 

 

3 RPO isn't impossible these days, don't see many captains giving a target of 240 with 100 overs to spare unless it's atrocious to bat.

You have to look at history of this ground, do you know highest total chases in Kanpur for over 70 years? Do you remember chases over 200 in nearly 90+ years in India? With DRS & 3 excellent spinners it would take more than a miracle for NZ to win! We could always shut their chase down with pacers & bad light - or did you not know that?

After the WTC final embarrassment, I thought the BCCI would do everything within its power to not just beat but crush the Kiwis at home but they have done the opposite, resting key players. When the hunger to win isn't there, how will the results be any good?

BCCI doesnt care about Indian cricket,They only care about IPL and Money.

Having historical data doesnt mean things will go exactly like they did in the past. In 2016 NZ scored 236 in the last inning against a better Indian team when a test match was last played here. Should one assume that 237 is a safe score ? Can't be so precise on these things, so we built a buffer.

I have been saying this for a couple of years on here to all you emotional posters- the BCCI and players themselves dont give a GHANTA for international cricket, only priority for them is IPL. The money they make from international cricket is because of numpty bhakt fans who invest so much of their life in this nonsense sport.
