sandeep
Could it just possibly be that the baksheesh to the curator was more of an appreciation of underpaid staff, and would have happened regardless of the nature of the wicket? Naah, why consider the obvious simplest explanation, when we can spice it up with bullshit. sorak, Clarke and beetle 3 Link to comment

Can't compare 2016 batting with 2021 batting. A half decent Indian batting would probably have lost less wickets and we would have had more time to win the game. Doesn't make the pitch good. Low bounce. Inconsistent turn. Take out the rough and our spinners would have struggled to pick 10 wickets let alone 17. Link to comment

England were psychologically finished then, after the karun nair triple century they were never going to hang in for to long, a pitch were medium pace seamers getting it to move and cause trouble for the batsmen is not flat, southee and Jamieson were a lot better than our seamers. Exactly which is why how many wickets fall or match result has NO bearing on the quality of the pitch. Had India had half decent batsmen, we would have handsomely won this and it would have looked an even better pitch. On the flipside, if 2000s India and Pakistan faced off here, it would have been a super boring draw. Maybe there was something for the pacers but we never know cos ours didn't bowl well at all. Their pacers did great but our batsmen were hopeless and just kept throwing away their wickets. From a spinner's point of view, this is a nightmare pitch. Nor Ashwin or jadeja have the ability to take the pitch out of equation, Ashwin needs bounce to succeed and jadeja a dusty pitch, their states are inflated, someone like Graeme swann would have picked up a six haul in this pitch, there was more than enough assistance imo, it was a decent pitch thou neither Umesh or ishant looked good enough, hopefully Siraj and prasidh get to play the second test. Vilander
Sporting in what respect as in sports were played on it. That's not sporting... That is sporting despite. Link to comment
urbestfriend
This was no way a sporting pitch...But I take this news with pinch of a salt. There was a news earlier that Rahul isn't happy with the pitch and he blasted the curator..Probably he gave some tips at the end of the match as a consolation and spin masters spun the news this way.. Adamant
The loser group of the noughties ( Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman) shouldn't be given any role in the team, they don't have the win at all cost mentality, quite similar to their cricketing career where they lacked the ruthlessness. Absolutely Pathetic These guys remind us of the day when BCCI had no status and we were ruled by ECB and CA. asterix 1 Link to comment
Adamant
Please Dravid don't instill loser mentality in this team, this isn't a team of Sachin and Laxman. Kohli and Rohit are guys who want to win at any cost. Edited November 30, 2021 by Adamant Link to comment
Clarke
Should have been a quicker track, that's all, which could have ended the game in 4 days. They were happy to play good length spin from the backfoot with the time available & uneven bounce got us some of the wickets. Link to comment

RajBan
Lol. We could have won if our batsmen has shown any application like Latham and Young or if our medium fast bowlers have shown the same zeal as Southie or Jamieson. Link to comment
GautiMaan
Cant Dravid focus his energies on kicking out Ishu,Rahane,Pujara and training their replacements.. mishra 1 Link to comment
Sandeep99
While I firmly believe that we should have full home advantage when teams tour India - I also want our bowlers - pace and spin - to strive hard for wickets. This will really help us when we tour other countries. India suck at sporting pitches - can't bat and can't pick wickets either. However, this change should happen at Ranji level first. Let the upcoming players experience this before they move to national team. Link to comment
