Third best left arm spinner in india. Bowls very accurate as accurate as the other two. But best is his flight. Kind of herath type. I have seen him bowl in tv and he is good.

I personally think  both Ishant/Shami should retire. Shami is not bad but we can start grooming the next generation. 

No disrespect to Jayant Yadav but he is waste of space as he is 32 years already and if he did not make it yet, there is fat chance that he will make a good career right now. We need someone who is around 25 years old to fill these backup slots.

 

 

We have Sundar waiting in the wings, Jayant is really just keeping his place warm.

 

With India's "new" batting lineup I have a lot more faith now, in us chasing or setting totals.

 

Gill and Iyer have the potential to add 100+ more runs than Pujara and Rahane, even being conservative, its at least an extra 50+ runs per innings by making the two changes.

Good to see Chetan Sharma (and Dravid) personally communicating to the players the team plans. Sets a good precedent.

 

Hopefully the practice continues for some other senior players as well, who would soon need to be thanked for their services and pensioned off.

So if their replacements score runs, will those replacements hold their spots ? Or will Pujane make a comeback on the basis of Ranji ?

Unless they score big in the Ranji and perhaps in county cricket as well(if they get a contract now), there is no comeback for the seniors

We can only.hope that the selectors are open-minded about continuing with the replacements if they do well. Both are past the point of no return. An occasional 40-50 is their ceiling now,.they are unfit to be full-time batsmen.
