maniac Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 I would put Kluesner slightly ahead at this point but if Pandya keeps this up till WT20, he would be leagues ahead of Kluesner by that point. Lord 1
zen Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 While Klusener performed exceptionally well with the bat, Sir Don is performing not only with the bat but also the ball, along with leadership where applicable: * IPL 2022 - 3 wkts + 30+ runs in the final to with GT the title … Also had a very good IPL batting in the top 4 and bowling in PP * Some good performances versus SA esp. with the bat * Captain versus Ireland where he closed a game * 4 wkts + 51 runs versus Eng in at20s * 3-4 wkts + 71 runs in ODIs versus Eng (MoS iirc in ODIs or T20s) * 3 wkts + 33* (lone wolf performance) v Pak in Asia Cup
Popular Post Gambit Posted August 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 29, 2022 For context, in the 1999 world cup, Klusener made 281 runs at an avg of 141 and an SR of 122 and took 17 wickets (4th highest) at an avg of 20.6. If Pandya does anything even remotely similar in the world cup, India will win. Mariyam, sandeep, Austin 3:!6 and 11 others 1 1 12
Majestic Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 World Cup and Asia Cup are not same. How about we compare him to Afridi version of 2007 and 2009 T20 World Cup for the start? Lord, Adamant and putrevus 3
Majestic Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Last year during T20 WC, it was Pandya vs Neesham. A few years ago it was Pandya vs Kapil. Then for a short while it was also Pandya vs Sobers. Now we have Pandya vs klusenar. I am sure if Neesham was Indian , we would have called him as next klusenar too especially after those two vital knocks(2019 WC and 2021 WT20). Clarke 1

SOmetimes that doesn't help either :) Shakib AL hasan made 606 runs in world cup 2019 in addition to 11 wickets at an ER of 5.39.
HamHindustani Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 LOL a big one. Klusener was much more grounded and a much better player.
Mariyam Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 I've no idea who Kluesner is/was. How many IPLs did he win? Did he hit a winning 6 against an arch rival? Was he invited to Koffee with Karan? I'm gonna go with HaPa on this one. Frustrated, maniac, Ravi_Shastri and 1 other 4
Ankit_sharma03 Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 From hearing pandya se acha to shanaka, binny, dube , venky iyer , sam curran , irfan pathan , yusuf pathan , jimmy neesham, asif ali , mitch marsh to this day when he is getting compared to klusner.......wahh Lord 1

Bigg Brother Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Pandya did reasonably ok in '19 wc which was his first wc..Scored 220+ runs and 10 wickets..Still not close to Kluesner. But performance in next wt20 and '23 WC will make a case for him being better than Kluesner.

I think most rational criticism was when he was clearly unfit and out of form and being carried on reputation while the other inferior allrounders give or take like Curran, Neesham were delivering with bat or ball like it’s expected of them and their teams were dropping or picking them on form and fitness while we weren’t. That was the issue. As I have said before there is a group that hates Pandya and then there is an other extreme. Truth and Logic is always lost in the middle.

Truth and Logic is always lost in the middle. gotta understand thats happening with most all rounders Watson for yrs suffered back injuries which is when he dropped down his pace Jaddu who is a spinner is struggling Stonis who bowls at 130k have been struggling Marsh aaj fir injured ho gaya Stokes has had elbow issues due to which he started bowling less in LOI and now took retirement from OIDI Curran was most bizzare comparison coz he was playing at home and hardik wasnt and i said that time too let him go out of england and his numbers will suffer big time, which is what happened the minute he played outside england his numbers went for a toss Also i did show you guys how greatest of the greatest all rounder had very similar numbers to hardik at same points infact many like kallis or shakib had quite horrendous numbers at start Problem is too quick opinion , which again will happen if he fails in 3-4 games . Logic was not used correctly even then Explain me how right was it to declare him finished and ICF have been guilty of decalaring careers finished like recently with even KL or bhuvi and now Kohli . Career dont get done so quickly.......................quick opinions. Gotta analyze what a player brings to the team which will always be beyond numbers

The # of times SDP has taken 3 or more wkts and scored 30+ runs in the same game this year is exceptional esp. considering T20s. He also did well batting in the top 4 in IPL. Klusener was exceptional but he used to pick up a wkt or two here and there, and score 20-40 runs in ODIs. Sir Don is doing that in T20s!! PS Klusener was the MoS of WC99 where many bowlers & batsmen (Dravid had the most runs for e.g.) did well, therefore displaying how invaluable such cricketers are (often seen as the best players of their teams)! Him playing as a pure batsman that too with no rhythm no flow needed to be mocked given his statements like "I have an aura" lol He is not the only one who gets made fun of. Kohli, Rohit, Rahul, Ashwin, Jaddu.. They will have their days too. Lord 1
Majestic Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 It's simple, if you gonna hype certain players more than others then you gotta set higher standards for them too. Hyping anyone with comparison to the greats of the past is not called for unless he is performing to that level too.
dilliboy Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Just Lol...klusener's performance that WC is probably the best all round performance in any tournament in history. I'll be happy if Pandy can performance 50% of what Klusener was able to achieve Frustrated and SandeepMotta 2
