Shami was a last minute addition. While he made  no great impact, the original plan would have been Arshdeep, Bhuvi and Harshal as your 3 seamers

 

We could have lost to Ned and Zim leave alone Bangla.

In hindsight, losing to Zim and Ban would hv been much better.  Atleast we would not hv seen this Epic Phainta of 170/0 in 16 overs in a SF and feel traumatized.   Even the Irish players must be laughing at us right now.

Lol no way. Anyway this is perfect, at least we reached semis and there is enough outrage to force  establishment (like our Pak friends would say) to make changes.

Non-negotiables. A couple of left handers in the top 5. Develop a high quality wrist spinner and a batsman who can bowl offspin for left handers .

 

Without these, we should not even bother appearing at the next WC. Professionally constructed sides have these - PAK, NZ  ENG, SA even if they vary in quality. 

 

We can't win based on the current formula. This is as far as we can go
