Remembering Sehwag

In light of England's batting revolution in Pindi i can't help but cast my mind back to Sehwag, the man with the temerity to try this stuff before anyone else.

He could, when applied correctly, change the future. At other times, it was as if he could predict it. And if he didn't change the future of batting, he, at the very least, foretold it.

England are blessed also at the same time lucky to have so many players in the team who can smash from get go. Ask to play with Same approach to 2010s English players and they would struggle. Just like Australian team of 2000s who was lucky to have so many match winners in same era. The thing with England is they are churning out players with same intent after 2015 just like India are churning out chokers and selfish top order batsmen. It has all to do with system.

Sehwag was amazing, made test cricket fun to watch. After him, it's Rishabh Pant who brings in a similar level of excitement in test matches whenever he comes out to bat. Their batting positions are  different and Sehwag's double and triple hundreds are like a peak that cannot be scaled, but Pant has a similar fearless approach and changes the complexion of the game. People don't want to miss the game when he is batting.

The real credit goes to sehwag. Lol he played this in early 2ks. They just trying to copy his style. Will only work on roads

Sehwag was a special player and so was Dravid. We don't have test batsman like them in today's era.

Noone understood the genius of Sehwag properly, they tried to shackle him too much.To me he is the best player of spin bowling in history of cricket. I would put him ahead of any batsman vs spin, his 293 the best test innings I ever saw, if not for Dravid shackling him we might have seen 300 plus score.

Sehwag was great, but we should remember his limitations too, especially on pitches with lateral movement.

It was his mind as much as his batting skill I loved. The current Eng side has the luxury of being told to go for it. Sehwag told himself, every over every bell.

It's not like india is not producing batters like those. It's just that we are irked with selfishness , favouritism, seniority culture , regionalism . That is the reason no foreign coach were allowed since Dunken Fletcher, someone like B-Mac or Chapple would not be allowed to flourish. I wonder that's the reason B Mac left kkr lucrative job and went to coach English test team. You can't promote dasher culture with Rahul Dravid as coach and top 4 selfish batter in the team. Ghonchu Dravid exploit every opportunity to make Rahul Shine he is next in line captain the most selfish and mental midget batter India produced since 90 days.

You can say the same about Engurlund too, why is it that people forget their rise post 2015 especially the second half of the last decade? Oh I dunno maybe the 2 new balls & dead pan pitches had something to do with it 

 

For those who wax lyricals about their approach, did you forget it took an almost proper test like innings from Stokes for them to win vs SL & Pak in the last Wt20 

 

Their fast & loose has only really worked on flat surfaces, everywhere lese it's the same sh!t show as we've seen with their bottom ranked test team

Exactly they are just flat track bullies if pitch has something byo offer these flat track bullies gets badly exposed.

For a guy like to emerge in the mountains of mediocrity (thinking wise) that is Indian sport, is/was special.
