Is Indian team boring or exciting?

I was thinking even if we win the World Cup, where would you rank Indian team among all time great teams?  I was rewatching  fire in Babylon documentary and got goosebumps.

you look at that 90’s-2000s cast of characters in the Aussie team: Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist, Langer,Martyn, McGrath, Warne, Bevan, Waugh bros, Brett Lee,Symonds, Hussey,McGill, Gillespee and that’s pretty much who’s who or world cricket.

Forget cricket for a second; look at the recent football/ soccer World Cup : France, Argentina or even the top 4-5 teams looked like every player was a champion player. Even ones on the bench looked like they are amazing athletes who are as good as the main lineup  . Recently the American Super Bowl being another example of teams looking like champion teams .

Does this Indian team look like a champion team to you? Do you find it exciting or boring. I think England is the must see team in the world of cricket right now.

France masked  a lot of their ineffectiveness with Mbappe.

In the final it all boiled over - Except the subs Kolo Muani, Thuram, Camavinga and of course later on Mbappe - the rest of the team stunk.

Varane, Rabiot, Tchoumeni and Upamecano were below average to bad. Especially bad were Hernandez, Griezman and Giroud. Dembele was horrible - perhaps the worst player ever in a WC final.

Awful final by France - except for Mbappe and the subs from minute 75 onwards. After 75 mins France was clearly the better team with chances to win outright at end. Before 75 mins they were not playing.... before the 60th minute they were not even trying to play.

Well they don't look like champions. Sadly the two best players, peak Bumrah and Pant may never return to their best. Some very good players are clearly over the hill.. Some players should not be near the team never mind in it.

There is also an agenda being run. Dravid as coach and his methods....... it is what it is.

The team can be exciting if youth is given a chance but again sadly it is not happening.

Without Bumrah and Pant, this is not an entertaining team.

In 2000 era every other team barring aus and s.africa were unfit. Hence those 2 teams could dominate most teams everywhere.

Fitness levels have more or less become standardised as every team now has proper fitness coaches. India currently are going through a bad phase due to the absence of genuine coaches like bharat arun. We are corrupt snd only care for money so you csn exclude us. Most other teams are fit hence you don't see domination from Oz or s.a anymore.

India Oz and then englund and perhaps outside chances for SA etc.

Boring 80% of the time.

Some of the happiness times I have enjoyed watching Indian Cricket is when players are injured (aside from Pant/Bumrah) and or players are busy with weddings and or having kids.

It means new talent is bought into the team.

Always remember GABBA never happens if Kohli stayed in Australia, its an undeniable fact. He was at the time the Cummins of our team.

The two most exciting and unique players - Pant and Bumrah, be are out with long term injuries. Without them it really is a one-dimensional home track bully team

India need to produce pitches like series vs England in 2016 where India won 4-0, then you can see the true skill level of batting.

Also India need to refresh batting order for Tests after WTC Final 2023 (hopefully India qualify) by picking exciting batsmen, Kohli probably should be dropped but won't be, time for Pujara to go:

Possible line up for West Indies Test Matches in July 2023:

Rohit (C)

Shaw

Gill/KL

Kohli

S Iyer/SKY

S Samson (WK)/I Kishan (WK)

R Jadeja

R Ashwin

M Shami

U Yadav

M Siraj/Axar/K Yadav/J Unadkat

Pujara ain't gonna get dropped, not after his 59 which would keep him afloat.

Iyer and Gill didn't do themselves any favour so KL might come back in next series.

Rohit is captain and Kohli is Kohli...Bharat might loose his place to Kishan and that it. Though I would love to see Jaiswal in the team, but he will be niggled now.

bhai, I am only a casual soccer watcher (World Cup/ euro cups). I don’t know the technical weaknesses etc but just pointing out that the game has gotten faster and the athletes stronger and faster based on what I saw. The gap between the subs and the main players has gotten even more closer because of the overall pool. That was my high level observation.

Our badminton players male and female  look like world champions, Neeraj Chopra looks like a proper world class champion. Even our wrestlers and boxers look like they are pound for pound as good as other country athletes.

However our cricket team (cosmetic looks aside) even does the basic things terribly like taking a catch or diving after a ball in the year 2023. Our athletes don’t last an entire series leave alone a season. not excited to watch this team.

Indian LOI team is boring and bland..  T20 team is absolutely unwatchable  Even ODIs are same. Test team is relatively more exciting because of twin spinners at Home and Pacers' performance overseas + Pant.

Mostly it is boring because of  it is a seniority based organisation . Exceptional talent is denied if it is  danger of  position to senior buddy . Exception to this was 2007  2020 World Cup . When young  team were sent to icc tournaments . It was excited and difference was clear in fielding , batting and bowling .

T20 has a young/new set of exciting players who are being developed. Some of the key bowlers will join that team as well in key tournaments.

Gill, Kishan, Samson, Hooda, Kuldeep, SKY, Tripathi, etc., along with the incomparable captain Sir Don Pandya.

Oh the Indian cricketers in that sense are pampered lot. I mean there are some especially glaring cases like Chahal but barring one or two - most of the players look unfit, out of shape etc.

Puzzling why they don't put in the effort. They make enough money. I don't watch women's cricket but someone on this board had said that there are some players on the Indian women's team who are better in the outfield than men which is shocking. Again they make enough money.
