And earlier KL was simply playing as if in the nets. When Kohli is at the crease, there is a possibility of a runout. Rohit's captaincy is "wait and watch", allowing the game to drag.  What type of cricket are these guys playing?

I can't believe this guy has supporters  in white ball cricket.

 

His bowling has been part timer level over his last 70 ODIs dating back to September 2014. He averages 49 with the ball - 64 wickets . Here are his bowling averages vs top teams in this period

 

71 vs Australia

65 vs England

59 vs NZ

72 vs Pakistan

38 vs SA

78 vs SL

35 vs WI

 

He's an absolute part timer masquerading as a spin allrounder. 

 

As a batter in this period he has only batted in 48 innings with 17 not outs and scored 964 runs . Average of 31 with the bat and strike rate of 88.

 

That batting average is misleading because of the not outs.  He has scored 20 runs per innings on average at 88 strike rate and averages less than a wicket a match at 49 bowling average,  significantly worse against top sides. 

 

This charlatans performance today is no surprise. It's par for the course for him .

This is the price that India pays for basing its test cricket on turning pitches to support basically ordinary spinners. 
 

Then these guys sipe into LOIs as well.

 

Agar (not intentionally made fun of Ind’s spinners) was saying that when he saw what the first ball did, he allowed the pitch to work for him.

Jadeja is a test legend..he deserves 100 more ODI games.

Jadeja only used to get into the team under Dhoni because of his extra-curricular services.

 

Now that Dhoni is long gone, the fact that they still persist with an ageing Jadeja who has done NOTHING in limited overs cricket for over a decade is staggering.

He came in once for an injured Pandya, had a good couple of games and became a permanent member. His biggest USP is his fielding. 15-20 runs saved on the field is like runs scored. The best way to use him is to get him on as a substitute fielder, no way should he be in the X1!

In all the 3 matches that India won in Australia's tour, Jadeja was the MoM!  

 

I personally don't like Jadeja as much in White ball as I do in Tests. He's not a big hitter or a strike bowler in ODIs/T20. But the team needs him currently because of the one dimensional skillset of our top order batsmen. They can neither bowl nor field well. Jadeja provides the balance which no other spinner does.

 

Ideally if any of our batters could bowl we could have had a pure batsman in place of Jadeja. In any case Jadeja should atleast be in the squad for his fielding alone.

He can't accelerate to win matches. I mean 59 off 50 ... Ffs that wasn't tough. He can block and scratch around in a chase if 220 max.

Ideally he should play in middle order as a batting allrounder. He can come at 4 after kohli, gives left hand variation. 

 

Somehow I have much more confidence of him surviving in case of tricky chase than top 3. But he cannot play in lower order, completely out of place

He plays sidekick role but can't take charge of a chase.

He is capable of accelerating but never seen him do it when the game is open for both sides except for that tied game vs New Zealand.
