Popular Post Austin 3:!6
We hear a lot of debates about which is a better team historically and Pak fans found a new voice it seems post CT win. So lets look into it objectively about which team played better in crucial games and which set of fans has more heart-breaks. *Crucial Games = Games with significant fan interest and with major hype (ICC events, historic bilateral series etc) 1) B&H World Series Final MCG - Perhaps the first major Ind-Pak game on a world level and Pak started as favourite. Result - Ind won by 8 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 1 : Ind fans 0 2) Final Austral-Asia 1986 Sharjah - Miandad last ball six broken the heart of million Indians Result - Pak won by 1 wicket Heartbreak count - Pak fans 1 : Ind fans 1 3) 1992 World Cup match Sydney - First World cup game between arch rivals with Pak starting as a huge favourites Result - Ind won by 43 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 2 : Ind fans 1 4) 1996 World Cup match Bangalore - Massive quarter final game and a curfew like situation in both countries, such was the inuterest. Result - Ind won by 39 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 3 : Ind fans 1 5) 1998 Independence Cup Final Dhaka - India thanks to brilliance of Ganguly chased down a massive target (314) posted by Pak. A great game in all accounts and much hyped up back then. That Hrishikesh Kanitkar sweep of Saqlain Mushtaq when 3 runs need off 2 balls probably still haunts few old Pak fans Result - Ind won by 3 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 4 : Ind fans 1 6) Pak historic tour of India 1999 - A much awaited series almost after a decade and many termed it as a war with Bat & Ball. Pak gave a massive heart break to Indians on that Chennai test with a close victory after Sachin's heroics. India reversed the result in the next game at Kotla with a 10fer for Kumble. Result - Drawn series 1-1 Heartbreak count - Pak fans 4 : Ind fans 1 7) Asian Test Championship 1999 - Eden gardens hosted the Asian Test championship game which was like an extension of the previous series. Shoaib Akhtar ripped us apart and silenced the massive eden crowd. Result -- Pak won by 46 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 4 : Ind fans 2 8) 1999 World Cup match Manchester - A less significant world cup game because Ind by then was already out of the tournament. Pak started as massive favorite being one of the tournament favorites. Result - Ind won by 47 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 5 : Ind fans 2 9) 2003 World Cup match Centurion - A massive game post Kargil War and emotions were high on both side of the border. India started as favorites and Sachin justified it with thrashing Pak bowlers all around. Result - Ind won by 6 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 6 : Ind fans 2 10) 2004 Champions Trophy Birmingham - A less hyped up game in all accounts with many key Indian players were missing. India started as a massive favorite after the thrashing they handed to Pak in 2003 WC. But Pak steals the show. Result - Pak won by 3 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 6 : Ind fans 3 11) Aman ki Asha Series 2004 - After much drama in Parliament, Vajpayee ji agreed on Indian team touring Pak first time since 1989. It was an historic series in all accounts. Perhaps not a bat-ball war series like 99 but more of beginning of a new friendship series. Sehwag manhandled them in Multan and Saqlain Mushatq never played cricket since that onslaught. Result - Ind won both ODI and Test series Heartbreak count - Pak fans 7 : Ind fans 3 12) Platinum Jubilee Match Eden Gardens 2004 - Historic game at gardens and Salman Butt steals the show. Result - Pak won by 6 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 7 : Ind fans 4 13) Pak tour of India 2005 - Return series of Aman ki Asha and it was a mix bag really. The test series was drawn and Pak won the ODI series 4-2. It will be remembered as the debut series of MS Dhoni and Afridi's assault at Kanpur Result - Test series was Drawn and Pak won ODI series 4-2 Heartbreak count - Pak fans 7 : Ind fans 5 14) Ind tour of Pak 2006 - First two tests were drawn thanks to flat pancake tracks but Pak won the final test. India won the ODI series handsomely 4-1 with young Dhoni and Yuvi thrashing Pak bowlers all around Karachi. This series will be counted as more heart-break for Pak fans since the way they lost the ODI series and that too at home. Result - Pak won the test series 1-0 and Ind won ODI series 4-1 Heartbreak count - Pak fans 8 : Ind fans 5 15) T20 WC league game 2007 Durban - Pak send a full strength team for the tournament but India rested all its senior players. BCCI back then didn't too T20 seriously and a young Dhoni led the side. The game was tied but a historical bowl out is still remembered today. Whats more funny is, bowlers like Gul and Afridi missed the stumps but Sehwag & Uthhapa hits the bulls eye. Result - Ind won by bowl out (3-0) Heartbreak count - Pak fans 9 : Ind fans 5 16) T20 WC Final 2007 J'burg - First Indo-Pak final at global stage since 1985 world series. Misbah scoops and rest is history. Result - Ind won by 5 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 10 : Ind fans 5 17) Pak tour of India 2008 - India won the ODI series (3-2) and test series (1-0) Result - Ind won both ODI and test series Heartbreak count - Pak fans 11 : Ind fans 5 18) Champions Trophy 2009 Centurion - A brilliant century by Shoaib Malik helped Pak score a massive total and beat India twice in Champions trophy. Result - Pak won by 54 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 11 : Ind fans 6 19) Asia Cup 2010 Dambulla - That Harbhajan Singh sixer of Amir was kinda reply to Miandad's one and still in memory of many fans Result - Ind won by 3 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 12 : Ind fans 6 20) World Cup 2011 Mohali - Perhaps the most hyped world cup game ever with winner goes to the final at stake. Sehwags initial blitz and Misbah's Tuk Tuk ensured India got a birth in final. This was India's 5th straight victory over Pak in world cup and their fans still feel pain of this loss. Result - Ind won by 29 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 13 : Ind fans 6 21) Asia Cup 2012 Dhaka - This game will be remembered for many things - Sachin's last ODI, brilliant century by Hafeez and Jamshed but it was Virat Kohli's innings which made Pak players speechless. India chased down 330 with 3overs to spare thanks to 183 runs knock of Kohli. Result - Ind won by 6 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 14 : Ind fans 6 22) T20 WC 2012 Colombo - Another Kohli masterclass (78*) innings seals the victory for India chasing a meager target of 128. Result - Ind won by 8 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 15 : Ind fans 6 23) Aane Do Series 2012 - The T20 series was drawn and exceptional swing bowling from Junaid Khan won them the ODI series 2-1. Result - T20 series was drawn and Pak won ODI series 2-1 Heartbreak count - Pak fans 15 : Ind fans 7 24) Champions Trophy 2013 Birmingham - India came into this game as favorites and won by 8 wickets in a rain effected game. This is the first time India ever beaten Pak in CT. Result - Ind won by 8 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 16 : Ind fans 7 25) Asia Cup 2014 Dhaka - Oh yes, those 2 Afridi sixers against Ashwin in a 55m boundary are still being talked in high regards in Pak. Result - Pak won by 1 wicket Heartbreak count - Pak fans 16 : Ind fans 8 26) T20 WC 2014 Dhaka - Within a month of those Afridi sixes, India meet Pak again in Dhaka but this time with their permanent captain MS Dhoni leading. As usual, MS Dhoni led India beat Pak again. Result - Ind won by 7 wicket Heartbreak count - Pak fans 17 : Ind fans 8 27) World Cup 2015 Adelaide - India extended their world cup lead over Pak 6-0 when MS Dhoni led team beat Pak yet again. Result - Ind won by 76 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 18 : Ind fans 8 28) Asia Cup 2016 Dhaka - In a minefield of a pitch, Ind got Pak all out for 83. While chasing Ind struggled against exceptional bowling by Amir but Kohli again rescued the ship Result - Ind won by 5 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 19 : Ind fans 8 29) T20 WC 2016 Kolkata - The shifting of the match to the Gardens from Dharamsala gave Pak a great hope as Eden gardens is a lucky venue for them historically. However, Kohli steals the show again with a scintillating half century. In-fact in 3 T20 WC games, Pak never manage to got him out Result - Ind won by 6 wickets Heartbreak count - Pak fans 20 : Ind fans 8 30) Champions Trophy league game 2017 Birmingham - A very hyped game and exceptional batting by Kohli, Rohit and Dhawan saw India beating Pak again and continuing their domination Result - Ind won by 124 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 21 : Ind fans 8 31) Champions Trophy Final 2017 The Oval - A massive game and Ind-Pak meeting in a global final since 2007 WC. An exceptional all round performance by Pak thrashed India all around the park. Result - Pak won by 180 runs Heartbreak count - Pak fans 21 : Ind fans 9 The above proves India being a better team and handles the pressure well in crucial games compared to Pakistan. As a result their fans 21 Heartbreaks compared to only 9 by Indians. Crucial Wins by Decades 1980s (Ind 1 - Pak 1) 1990s (Ind 4 - Pak 1) 2000s (Ind 6 - Pak 4) 2010s (Ind 10 - Pak 3) @Pak Fans Edited November 21, 2017 by Austin 3:!6 velu, DHONI_FANN, Rightarmfast and 11 others 7 5 2 Link to comment

They think a lot of things. why bother disputing it? There's a lot of flat earthers out there, greenbros and non-greenbros who believe 9/11 was an inside job and OBL was innocent. Don't waste your time "countering" morons. They have a factory churning those out, instead of fast bowlers as they like to believe. Turning_track, Bilal78 and SecondSlip 2 1 Link to comment
Gollum
In ODI cricket they have had more heartbreaks, in test cricket we have had more heartbreaks. Chennai 1999, Kolkata 1999 (we had them at 25/6, even better than Karachi's 39/6), Mohali 2005, Bangalore 2005, Karachi 2006.......... We should have won the 1999, 2005 and 2006 series, in stead we drew 1 and lost 2. That 2005 series was a disaster on so many levels, we should have gone to Bangalore 2-0 up but instead left the series with a draw against a crap Pakistani side with a joke of a bowling lineup. What's more we lost the ODI series 4-2 after being 2-0 up . I used to gloat over our ICC tourney H2H until June 18th, how can any side lose a final by 180 runs? Something like Brazil's 1-7 crapfest or Fed's no show in RG 2008........only thing is both Brazil and Federer started as underdogs before their matches while we started as overwhelming favourites. I will never forgive Kohli for this abomination , there is no possible redemption for this, especially the behavior after the match. Link to comment
