Kohli is RCB captain yet failed to judge skills of saini (bowling/batting) and siraj (format skills)

Kohli is said to be fast bowlers captain which is the biggest myth . Saini n siraj play for RCB and yet he cudnt judge their skills. Both shud have played for India in test atleast 1-2 years prior. 

Siraj was made to play wrong format, if he is such a good fast bowler captain then how did he fail to judge this . 

Saini again shud have played long ago and now when he has performed consistently he still gets a raw deal coz of batting, funny he is showing now he can hold the bat well. Now as RCB captain didnt he ever see him bat in nets .

 

Another strange thing he gave more consistent run to dube n sundar for India , 2 guys he thought wasnt that good to play for RCB regularly.

 

This makes me wonder do captain look at net session and videos of players.

Absolutely poor from Kohli, from 197/8 to 273/8 was disappointing. You just cannot allow 75+ runs in last 50 balls in such situation.

Kohlis claim to being a so called fast bowling captain is this - he inherited a core group -shami, Ishant, Umesh, Bhuvi who had all matured by the time he took over. Ishant's time with Gillespie did the trick for him, and Shami discovered a fitness routine to raise his game. Add to this - a once in a generation bowler in Bumrah burst on scene. So Kohli happened to be in right place at right time. Compared to Dhoni who was atrocious in handling pacers and totally disinterested in tests, Kohli looked like a godsend. It's like after Hitler, even a dictator like Saddam will feel wonderful

The match was lost right there. Even in the first match, 110 runs were conceded in a 10 over stretch in the middle overs and that took the game away from us. You can't just hope that the opposition batting will implode on its own.

Kohli- the test captain has improved a lot & I'd give him due credit for our performances in red ball cricket since taking over in 2015. But he absolutely loses the plot in LOIs, his body language his tactics are absolutely negative. Don't want to discuss about team selection here. In death overs a lot is to be desired considering Bumrah has come back from injury, Bhuvi & Pandya not here, all we have is Shami for now. 

This team might win a bilateral LOI series in SENA but they definitely aren't the team to cross over the last hurdle & win silverware. But then again if the skipper & TM don't acknowledge, learn from past mistakes those disappointments from the past will keep coming back at us.

Kohli is an extreme fundamentalist worshipper of the principle of seniority and pecking order.  Always has been.  Shardul Thakur topped Ranji bowling averages in 2015/16.   He has no business being in the ODI or T20 team in 2020, 3 years away from ODI WC.  Especially when India have a good 3+ young pacers with potential.  But Brand Kohli prioritizes things differently.

Kohli plays for RCB only to enhance his brand value and for PR. There is no other interest. Else he would have quit captaincy after 5-6 years of non-performance. Expecting him to identify and groom talent is asking for too much.

Kohli: Two pretty good games, great for the fans. Particularly impressed how we finished the game. First half we let things slip away. I think Saini and Jadeja showed great character, as I said one-day cricket in this calendar year is not as relevant like T20Is and Tests. A game where we could have taken chances and capitalised. We could definitely consider changes, we have nothing to lose now. No messages were sent to Jadeja or Saini. We didn't know Saini can be as good with the bat. We want guys to figure out situations themselves.

Saini can hold a bat and swing well but he isnt an accomplished batsmen or anything. He is batting at the right position according to his skills. He kept swinging and missing and because of this small ground was able to connect a few shots and get boundaries. 

 

He could have easily have been out a few times in his innings.

This means you can play Bumrah, Shami and Saini together in ODIs.

It's not just the fast bowlers. RCB under Kohli were happy to let KL Rahul go in order to retain Sarfaraz when Sarfaraz was very raw and probably a tad unfit as well. Then in the following cycle , instead of grooming Sarfaraz he let him go as well. He is the perfect example of mad king and also a reminder that your best batsman need not be your best captain. I sincerely think he lacks the intelligence and emotional balance when it comes to team management, decision making  and mentoring young players.
