ravishingravi Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Or. It was nice way to scale down expectations byBCCI before SA tour. Suddenly, Indian fans can celebrate non whitewash of No 1 team. WC2011INDIA 1
Trichromatic Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 It was kind of pitch where you keep patience till 30th over for 70-4 or 65-3 and then score 100-110 in last 20. Vilander and chewy 2
YCCC Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 (edited) There was a bit in it for the bowlers but hardly a minefield. Made for good cricket so far. Dhoni showed it was possible to bat on it, apart from a few lucky moments where he nearly played on. Edited December 10, 2017 by YCCC chewy 1
Gollum Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 This is a 200-220 pitch. Application was needed, you need to be gritty in the 1st 20-25 overs and then halwa attack. chewy, Laaloo and speedheat 3

Shastri and co are bland and lazy bastards There is no extra effort to think about pitch, conditions and opposition...I mean dharamsala is India’s home ground, they should know the conditions inside and out should have gone in with regular three quicks, batting plans should have been different SK_IH 1

If they simply prepare flat tracks their superior fast bowling will easily bowl them to a victory. Greentops would gave our pacers a chance . Gollum and Laaloo 2

BeautifulGame Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Pitch was good. Problem was due to the early 11.30 there was more moisture than expected. We just needed to bat out first 15 overs patiently and then middle order could have cashed in.Problem all our bats bar Dhoni looked clueless. Remember a similar wicket in Pakistan in 2006 tour when Sachin and Dravid knuckled down saw of the new ball for 15-20 overs without scoring much. The Dhoni and Yuvi came in fully cashed in. cric_fan Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Yeh yeh. SL seem to be batting just fine on the same pitch?

I think Sachin got 90 odd in that match when Asif was nipping the ball very sharply both ways, one of the best and most under rated innings of the great man. Jimmy Cliff 1
vvvslaxman Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 It is the job of openers to weather the storm upfront. But they constantly go missing when the ball does something.
chewy Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 A lot of chaff in the team ignorant and lack of technique in swinging conditions, can’t weather the storm Also Manish Pandey not good enough and Kartik, well velu 1

Shows the shoddy technique of our batsmen at Dharamsala you are not going to get a pitch like this anywhere. This is what is called minefield.
bowl_out Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 They should have such pitches for domestic matches.. Playing on pattas all the time and suddenly getting exposed to such pitches in the name of SA prep doesnt make sense

And then people have the gall to compare today's batsmen with King Viv !!!! Just out of curiosity how many century or 50 Viv has scored on same kind of pitch as Dharamshala. I get it he was good but bringing old player all the time in discussions gives me an idea that all pitches from the past were like Dharamshala and there were no flat pitches whenever Viv scored century or 50. sarcastic 1
