Kohli is not even worth mentioning. He made me hate Indian cricket at various stages since he got married, as it changed him, that or the form decline coinciding is hard to determine which is at fault.

I really loved Kohli during that period, where he tore sides apart and had the arrogance and also the anger to win games. For me the beginning of the end of my love for Kohli was the world cup. His squad and team selections coupled with performing fellatio on Smith when Indians were booing Smith at the WC was disgusting.

Tendulkar stopped not just India, but stopped many nations across the world. It didnt matter who you supported, everyone wanted to see Sachin bat.

The world respects Tendulkar, always has and always will. The same can never be said about Kohli.

Not even the best of his era, never has been, even in ODIs (ABDV best till 2015, Rohit after that).

Sachin owned the 90s, one of the toughest decades for batting.

Sachin's peer group will include the likes of Viv and Smith. Kohli hasn't demonstrated he is better than Mohammad Yousuf (2 peak years and 40 avg on either side).

No comparison, just stop.

Kohli became (test) world number one after Smith got banned, when the Aussie came back in 2019 Ashes it took him 3 innings to take back his rightful place....Kohli just kept the seat warm for his master.

Sachin reclaimed top spot at the age of 37...at a time when Kallis, Sanga, Clarke, KP, Cook, Ponting, G Smith, ABDV, peak Amla, Chanderpaul, Younis, Bell, Hussey, Mahela etc. were active....all younger than him.

Sachin owned the fading 80s stars, then his 90s peers, and despite injury issues and age he pipped a strong gen of 00s batsmen during his second peak phase (2007-10). He was able to keep up with the new generation and outclass them.

Kohli was inferior to the 00s gen (Clarke, Sanga, Younis, ABDV) in his initial years, in fact averaged less than Ashwin with the bat before 2014-15 BG, and then Smith took over completely always maintaining a gap of 10-15 runs avg...that's massive, same gap as that between Kohli and Bairstow. Now in his 30s he isn't even the 2nd best batsman in this weak Indian batting line up, forget rest of the world.

2nd best??? Doesn’t even crack the top 10

All GOAT contenders have their era, in every sport. Sachin averaged 58-59 in the 90s, pity BCCI didn't schedule enough tests back then, in early 90s there were years when India played just 3-4 tests per year.

Kohli's legacy will be that he kept the seat of this era's GOAT contender warm, for a year when the latter was inactive. Even when he was at the peak of his powers, he was playing second fiddle to Smith. We all know how the 2017 BG series unfolded, don't we? He scored what, 30 runs in 3 tests?

SRT had a 4 year slump from from 2003-2006 where he didn't do much outside a couple of unbeaten daddy hundreds. Kohli is having similar run since 2019. I can't stand the Rat but hopefully he has a 2007-2011 WC resurgence soon.

Sachin, Dravid, VVS - all of them were better test batsman than Kohli.

A case can be made also for Sehwag being better.

Yes, Sehwag was better. Sure he failed outside India (apart from Oz), but it was the fear factor and the match winning innings that count. And Ganguly + Azhar was far better than Rat in Eng.
