Ashwin is already injured, so only jadega the lone spinner.. whats the point in droppoing kuldeep?

What if the pitch for next test assist the spinner and ashwin is injured

one of the reasons to think that Sastri is an out and out parasite moron and nothing else. These type of  practical thoughts  don't pass  thru that fool's head.

Ashwin has been bowling ok since the first test so would not have minded giving Kuldeep another go. Lord was not the venue where Kuldeep should have been played

Bowlers:

  • Pace: Shami (gets a week's break), Bumrah and Ishant / Yadav
  • Spinner: Ashwin / Kuldeep
  • AR: Pandya

it was not about venue but about not able to land the ball.  Even if it was not helping spinners, you should be able to bowl in good areas.  he struggled to put ball in the right areas.  test matches are all about consistency.  Will take Jadeja over Kuldeep anyday.  Kuldeep needs to get consistent, work on his action to do that.  I dont see him being a great success in test cricket until he improves his action and becomes consistent. LOIs probably.  your success is directly proportional to efficiency of your bowling action.

he is considered as no 5 n 6 .....n rahane was struggling for long so a backup i always prepared

Nair technique at 3 is to loose

It's not about assumptions but giving a fair chance to a player before he is dropped. Nair has batted at #3 and #4 for Karnataka. The only reason they selected Vihari is because they have doubts over Nair's technique, which comes to the first question, why did they choose Nair in the first place then? On what basis they are making these selections.

But isn't Kuldeep's action his strength as it portrays him as a mystery bowler? .... He could have just had a bad game. Why do we think he can't bowl well when he won us a test vs Aus iirc? He probably needs to bowl more to get in to rhythm and get acquainted with the Duke ball

Ps Anyways, I hope he does well vs Aus A!

Should have dropped Shami & Shardul for Siraj and Rajpoot. Now, the only hope is that selectors will give Siraj and Rajpoot a go in the two tests against West Indies. I hope they rest Bhuvi & Bumrah for Windies matches and also that they don't play the likes of Ishant-Umesh etc. as they did against Afghanistan.

But this selection panel has screwed up big time. Should never have selected Nair, Shardul for this tour.

This series is gone anyways esp. if the batting remains inconsistent so let's see how these guys do vs Aus A

The selection of Shaw & Vihari also throws light on who is on chopping block next .

Its Dhawan & Pujara.  They have to  be very consistent and score above average . Else they will be out .

Sword is hanging over their heads now.

Hope they should have done something in Pace department also.

Atleast one  new pacer addition was required

Yup i wish Siraj was picked, Either for umesh or shardul

Shardul- wud be unfair to drop someone without a chance but still he is avg

Umesh is jst to inconsistent ....

Siraj must have been picked in place of Shardul in the beginning itself. It is a pity after performing so well for India A, Siraj was not  included.

To all siraj supporters..

So what does he do?

Swing the ball and pacy like shami or line and length bowler?

He is pacy, reached top speed of 149.94 km/h in the IPL. Has a good bouncer as well.

Siraj targets the top of off stump to the top of 5th stump ball after ball and bowls in excellent areas ...  bowls at pace which varies between genuine fast and fast-medium ... seams the ball both ways ... has a good bouncer these days.
