Shami's real age?

Pakistan's latest pace (and age fudging) sensation, Naseem Shah has taken his first Fifer in International cricket. His listed age (16yrs 311 days ) makes him the second youngest fast bowler, after Nasim Ul Ghani, to do this. However there is controversy regarding his real age with various claims. For example:

Some sources say he could be 19-20. One thing's for sure, he looks older than 16.

Now, this got me thinking about our own pace king, Shami. Shami's listed age is 29 yrs 111 days( born 1990). For years I've thought he looks much older than his age. Last year his wife came out and said he was actually born in 1982 not 1990 ( Article link with alleged photo ID: https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/story/now-hasin-jahan-accuses-mohammed-shami-of-age-forgery-1222342-2018-04-28) ).

That would make him 37 years old now.  Has Shami fudged his age? And by this much? I mean 8 years of fudging is unheard of. That's almost 3 Afridis.

But when I look at him I can't believe he is 29. For reference, Chahal(1990 born) is supposed to be two months older than Shami. Kohli almost two years older. I mean, cmon! To me Shami looks in his mid 30s, so 37 would not be necessarily implausible.

What do others think?

What difference does it make? He did not fake it play U 19 etc. The way he is bowling now I could care less if he was 90.

+1. He didn't gain any unfair advantage by fudging his age. He is neither the first nor the last to do this. He is bowling well and that's all that matters.

Exactly. No U 16, no U19 no advantage. What is the big deal here? Not saying it is the right thing but he is gaining no advantage doing this.

Ironically he is fitter now than when he was young.  I remember him talking about some weird fitness routines he is following.

That's true. It goes to show that you can get yourself in great shape no matter how old you are. Before his disappearance act, even MS Houdini showed he was probably the best athlete in the team despite his age. I also remember being impressed by a very fit 40+ Brad Hogg in the IPL a few years ago.
