Should Kohli resign from test captaincy?

Irrespective of the score line in NZ, 0-2 or 1-1, should Kohli resign from test captaincy (may need to be sacked)? 
 

May be it is time Kohli focuses on what he is best at - Batting! India is missing Kohli the batsman. It may never miss Kohli the captain. 
 

Captain Pujara can take over the mantle. Since the next test series in Aus is a few months away, Pujara will get enough time to mentally settle down and plan for better team performances and grooming a few youngsters.

“Should he resign” is the mild expression for “Should be be sacked”

He’s shameless, he will never resign. It took many many thrashings in tests overseas and bad results for Dhoni to be FINALLY sacked essentially.

 

i think a whitewash in Australia ( which is very likely) might be a start of the process if Kohli stepping down- so far now wins in SENA ( apart from 1 Aus series) no WC wins, no T20 WC wins, no CT wins. I mean apart from winning tests at home and useless Agarbati ODi billaterals what has he actually done for indian cricket which any Indian captain can do( anyone can win at home leading India)

If a captain loses 3 series overseas after 18-24 months as captain, there should be an automatic process to evaluate captaincy and to see if a change is needed. 
 

I would not want the tenure of any captain to be more than 6 years unless he shows exceptional leadership and good form. If he does, he may get a final extension of up to 2 more years (depending upon how far he is from retirement) and of course also tasked with grooming the new candidate(s).
 

This process should also be explained to those appointed to the role so they do not think and act as if they are appointed as captain for the life of their career.

This superstar culture,media hyping jokers like him will always stagnate Indian cricket's progress

Too much  glamour, spotlight greed is probably found in every kid of this era

They will always find ways to draw maximum attention ,Kohli has just started it,I see it in Shubhman,Shaw and every other young cricketer

Someone truly said in this forum ,football needs to grow in India to tame this monster and make individual accountability relevant

Kohli should continue as captain for tests as there are no real alternatives available at the moment. 

He should actually resign from ODIs and should play selectively in T20s.. this should help him in getting sufficient rest

It can practically only work if all the 3 captains play only one format .... No point in having X and Y play under Z in tests, Z and X playing under Y in ODIs, and Z and Y play under X in T20s

It does not matter. Most of it is redundant anyway. I would personally like to see new captain walk in every game and rotate among all 11. That is just me.

Yes and no. He shouldn't be given an opportunity to resign, he should simply be sacked and booted out permanently from the team.

No. He is still our best batsman and most suited for captaincy. Some posters are speaking out of emotion than being rational while others like @Lannister is using this opportunity to peddle the agenda. 

 

 

India need to change few players from the team though. Likes of Agarwal, Pujara, Rahane needs to be replaced with Rahul, Iyer and Gill etc.
