Oh yes i dont know if anyone remembers but in the tour of 1996 Tendulkar and Azhar played a blinder of partnership .. the best outside asia as per me in challenging conditions .. theres even a book on it. https://www.pitchpublishing.co.uk/shop/sachin-and-azhar-cape-town

 

I still remember Robin Jackman in awe of the partnership.. he kept on gushing about the stroke play.. still have goosebumps seeing and listening to it. Rest in Peace. ( btw he was one of the few commentators who supported India when the mike denness scandal broke out)

You should know better to not speak ill of the dead especially not on the thread that is dedicated to him passing away. Just because he married a woman from South Africa from the apartheid times and working there doesn't make him a bad person. Even if he was, death is a great leveler and his moral debt is paid

First off, I've never subscribed to the convention that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead.  Sure, not slander, but recording facts isn't speaking ill. 

 

In fact it's not because he married a woman from SA, there are deeper, documented reasons.

 

But I won't go into them here, happy to discuss elsewhere.
