MUMBAI: The BCCI’s fitness tests are back in the news again. According to a top source, wicketkeeper batsmen

Sanju Samson

 and

Ishan Kishan

, batsman Nitish Rana, legspinning allrounder

Rahul Tewatia

 and seamers

Siddarth Kaul

and Jaydev Unadkat have all failed to clear the new ‘2-km run’ fitness test introduced by the BCCI at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore this week.

“Since this is a new type of a fitness test, they will all get a second chance to clear it at a fresh date, after some gap.

Are we going back to trundlers with Chetan Sharma at the helm !!

Unadkat is hungry for more slower ones, and Chetan Sharma has pledged to soothe his hunger by giving him an army of Trundlers

Firstly I was seeing how Samson was fielding in T20s in Australia & was clearly the best fielder of the side...  So either this fitness test is massively flawed or useless.

Nitish Rana is also gun for KKR..  Kishan is a keeper so don't know.

More importantly I am surprised that Rana Tewatia are in the mix..  Are selectors now focusing on potential & not numbers?  it's a welcome move in. My view.

No Kaul & Unadkat for heaven's sake..  Give me Khaleel or Arshdeep over them anyday.

Kishan and Samson are both brilliant fielders, so surprised a bit with this.

Its about stamina to run at a constant speed. They are wk so it’s difficult..
