Yes ,i admit had it been our attack featuring all the first choice bowlers i too would have preferred a pitch where pacers also had something to cheer about but i didn't fail to understand India are on verge of making to the WTC finals and yes they were little apprehensive about their chances against their bogey team without their main men(bowlers),they couldn't have botched this chance, I don't find Clown wrong here to win it desperately and lead us in Lords after Rahane and his injured warriors tamed Aussie bulls at their backyard and put him under tremendous pressure ,it only helps us go more closer to the finals

Lets cherish the moment, saviour the moment,just enjoy and sit with popcorn and enjoy this sissy whining from the English

Winning toss ( 11th out of last 13 matches against India) then being 74/2 and then next 18 wickets lost for 119 runs. Stop blaming pitch and blame your skill against spinners..

Wickets of Crawley and Bairstow are classic examples of how ill prepared the Englishmen are , both missed a straightforward arm ball which would go down against poor technique, nothing to do with the pitch here. There were no demons in the pitch, no extra bounce of the length, no missing the face of the bat kind of turn, if anything the pink ball skidded more than the regular red ball and that led to the downfall of batsman on both the sides, even Kohli Rahane, etc were late on their shots and  perished due to that extra zip, so no, this is just poor technique on both the side and nothing to do with the Pitch. Rohit is the only batsman who read the pitch perfectly and was making an effort to play forward and not to stay back on the back foot and be a sitting duck.

The only thing to be blamed rightfully is the pink ball. It skids through and when you dont play enough with it , it shows. Also SG Pink ball skids lot faster than kookaburra because it has an extra coat of lacquer because

of Indian conditions and pitches..

But remember both teams played with the same ball. They lost 20 wickets we lost 10.. which leads to the question..who was more skilled in batting.. and hats off to Rohit..

Wouldn't they have practices with it in the week leading up to the match?  Or is that not enough preparation?

Issue is India can practice against Axar Ashwin and still they struggled. England practices against Bess and Leach and Jiten Patel..

Crawley & Bairstow getting out to Axar in the first over had nothing to do with pitch. They just batted badly. Most of the wickets England lost was due to bad batting and not the pitch...

I agree but tbf India should prepare pitches that are conducive to spin and reverse swing friendly. Like the ones vs South Africa. Little help but not too much.

I think we would have seen pitch like first test for rest of the tests too, if they had not lost first test.Nadeem who played first test was just awful.

NhA first test was ****. Too toss dependant. 

 

Need flatter pitches with help for spin but not too much. Help for reverse swing. 

 

England are lucky no Umesh Shami and Jadeja though.

 

I think that's why India prepared such turning pitches.
