Can Tewatia be Ind's Bevan?

In T20s, at #6 & 7, along with at 8 where possible, you want someone who not only can get the big shots going effortlessly but also has clutch qualities. Tewatia has been brilliant in IPL with performances such as 5 6s in an over, an inning that brought him in the limelight which he seems to enjoy too, and the incredible chase v SRH. In terms of player points, he was in the top 10 in the last IPL.

Does Tewatia have the quality to remain cool to close game? Can he be Ind's Bevan (though in T20s, you would play with a much higher SR) esp. in the upcoming T20 WC?

Bevan will not be a success in T20s.

You should reframe your question to India's Klusenar because that is what is essential in T20s for India to win.

By Bevan, I mean an accomplished closer for the team ... You can use Klusener, Hussey or whichever player as substitute but Bevan is more synonymous with someone who remains cool (and even calculated)

Tewatia, SKY are all good players and in the squad ... and can serve Ind for a few years ... what is the issue with their selection? :hmmm:

no problem with SKY actually. Even though I think he is a journeyman type cricketer like English odi team of the 90’s, I think he has earned it in T20 format. I just don’t think he is a long term prospect.

Tewatiya as I said, never heard of anything of note before 1-2 IPL innings which he looked like a tailender for the most part before some pathetic bowling. His bowling is pretty average too.

ADA (Cardano) was $0.15 in Nov/Dec, currently it is at $1.21. It is expected to go to $2 (and even $5). It reached a high of $1.5 recently (10x). Would you buy Cardano in the $1-$1.1 price range or wait for it to be $0.15 (which may never happen)? You need all kinds of instruments in your portfolio.

Don't think like a 9 to 5 employee, playing safe and waiting for cricketers to show substantial proof (like salary deposited every 2 weeks ). Think like an entrepreneur.  Think outside the box too. Based on what you saw recently, do you think, the project (Tewatia) here can yield great benefits?  :dontknow:

Can he deliver in pressure moments? Can he get the big ones going? Can he close games? Can he be an utility bowler? Can he field well? If you saw him play recently, the answers to all the questions is yes.

SKY isn't the journeyman. In fact, he was once touted to be the new Sehwag who used to bat at high SR in first-class cricket when he first started for Mumbai. He later changed his approach and passed tha baton to Iyer. Now the baton is with Shaw.

I agree SKY deserves his chances in t20s, who should be kicked out to play him?
