Sachin was never able to play like Kohli did in first inning

Whenever he tried to dig in like that, he would go into shell, struggle and finally get out.

He was able to play in difficult batting conditions, but always had to play fluently only. Was never good at blockathon.

Their records tell a different story.

In his first 92 tests, Sachin has 8 50+ scores with <40 strike rate

Kohli has one so far. If ge gets to a 50, this innings will be his second

Have you seen his inning in SA where he scored 100 odd against Steyn and company in 2011

One can also opine that even on difficult pitches , Sachin could keep score board moving as he tries to dominate wherever possible . Also factor in quality bowling against whom he did that . Mecgrath, Warne , Styen , Donald , Pollock, Saqlain, Akram

Some of the innings in Aus  in 90s & early 2000s, Chennai -vs Aus (warne), vs -Pak , vs-Eng , vs -Aus , VS -SA in SA , one has to re watch again to appreciate class of the man.

SRT was hardly a clutch situation player for India regardless of his overall statistics and runs he accumulated.

In that era, VVS was the biggest clutch players in test matches &  for ODIS it was  Yuvi & Dhoni

Except in the 90s lots of time Sachin came at 5, 6 down and formed partnerships of over 100 runs. People have very very very short term memories

www.cricketcountry.com/articles/sachin-tendulkar-peerless-in-crisis-situations-33852/amp/

Also the fact that they intentionally downplay situations when Sachin  did it and overhype others

And of course how do you you judge openers pressur situations? Sachin has one of the best stats in  tournwment finals and finals wins for us

But hey, once the circlejerk gets going online, there is no stopping it. You have to keep saying regardless of stats because stats shred your points

This is plainly wrong. We have innings where he completely cut off some shots just to survive. He would play just one side of the wicket. He cut the cover drive in his innings of 240 when it was his bread and butter. He played inside the ball in the entire series of South Africa.

Sachin performing in clutch finals of ICC ? LOL

Virat was already highest scorer in 2013  CT , 2014 T20 WC. Now he is doing well on the most important stage out of all.

Kohli the batsmen is levels above Sachin
