zen Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Guys in supposedly good form (per series in Ind and other formats including IPL) need to step up to make their “form” count. In the last 3 innings: Rohit 19, 59, & 11 KL 0, 8, & 17 Jadeja 4, 30, & 10 Pant 2, 1, & 9 Just 1 good knock in the last 3 innings among these 4 sage 1
Adamant Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Rohit has done well apart from him I can't say that anyone else has been good in this series. No, Kl Rahul needs to do it consistently.
Serpico Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Maybe they are all operating at just 40% capacity Frustrated, Vijy and raki05 3
Trichromatic Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Didn't know that there was only 3 innings in this series so far. nevada, kohli and Adamant 3

ThirtyD. Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Also, while we are at it, how about we just ask our #3,4,5 to sit out and not bother showing up? They haven’t showed up in the past couple of years so why not give much needed batting practice for our lower order? raki05 and nevada 1 1
Popular Post express bowling Posted September 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 3, 2021 Fair enough. And players in bad form for the last 1 year + should be dropped. sorak, raki05, Lord and 11 others 7 7

So far most batsmen have played 2 good knocks. Someone like Rahane only 1. Guys in good form are expected to do better. Unless we follow the Mumbai lobby mantra of one good inning per series = job done. Kohli hit a few 100s last time in Eng and Pujara hit 500+ runs in Aus, following it up with 3 50s in 4 innings in the next tour. That is how you try to make good form count. Let’s hope these guys in good form are able to leverage on their form with the series still in balance. Edited September 3, 2021 by zen

Norman Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Then Pujara won't be needed to step up... ever. express bowling, raki05 and nevada 3
Majestic Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Rohit and Rahul should get a big score tomorrow.

Pujara hitting 500 happened in 1 series out of 15 series in 11 years of career and that came at expense of 13 poor series. If that's the benchmark, Pant as wicketkeeper has already done well in both of tours of Australia. Remember he was the one who scored unbeaten 80+ to win Gabba test, even the openers whom you love to blame - Gill scored 97 while Pujara was contend with 50s. Pant scored 97 in Sydney test and was top scorer. On top of that his wicket keeping was good. Pant has already met expectations of good form. For KL and Rohit, let them play for 11 years and 15 and then complain.

You need to actually perform when you are young in order to play for 11 years.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Exactly like pujara did last time when he scored in 2 innings out of 8 (when his so called Maha Avtaar began overseas) New guy and Adamant 2

There are only two world class players in this side (Pujara and kohli). Both will score hundred in the 2nd inning and prove why they are best. Rasgulla Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 If pant gets into double digits he should raise his bat. Big achievement in england for him.
