Guys in good form need to step up (Ind in Eng 2021)

Guys in supposedly good form (per series in Ind and other formats including IPL) need to step up to make their “form” count. In the last 3 innings:

Rohit 19, 59, & 11

KL 0, 8, & 17

Jadeja 4, 30, & 10

Pant 2, 1, & 9

Just 1 good knock in the last 3 innings among these 4 :((

Didn't know that there was only 3 innings in this series so far.

So far most batsmen have played 2 good knocks. Someone like Rahane only 1.

Guys in good form are expected to do better.  Unless we follow the Mumbai lobby mantra of one good inning per series = job done.

Kohli hit a few 100s last time in Eng and Pujara hit 500+ runs in Aus, following it up with 3 50s in 4 innings in the next tour. That is how you try to make good form count.

Let’s hope these guys in good form are able to leverage on their form with the series still in balance.

"supposedly" good form. that's like saying Karan Johar is "supposedly" of the same level as Ozu.

Pujara hitting 500 happened in 1 series out of 15 series in 11 years of career and that came at expense of 13 poor series.

If that's the benchmark, Pant as wicketkeeper has already done well in both of tours of Australia.

Remember he was the one who scored unbeaten 80+ to win Gabba test, even the openers whom you love to blame - Gill scored 97 while Pujara was contend with 50s. Pant scored 97 in Sydney test and was top scorer. On top of that his wicket keeping was good.

Pant has already met expectations of good form.

For KL and Rohit, let them play for 11 years and 15 and then complain.

Rohit's own fault that he failed till 2018 and hence was kicked out of the team.

You need to actually perform when you are young in order to play for 11 years.

They all are medicore players. You can not expect consistency from medicore cricketers.

There are only two world class players in this side (Pujara and kohli). Both will score hundred in the 2nd inning and prove why they are best.

You know when the padosis are rooting for you, its time to retire
