Pakistan " think tank " - Building player hotels next to the cricket grounds would address the security concerns of foreign teams

According to a couple of popular Pak cricket talk shows building 100 room hotels next door to the cricket grounds would resolve the security concerns of foreign teams.

 

I find this laughable. 

 

Pak army GHQ ( supposed to be the safest place in Pak even more secure than Pak PM  ) was attacked by militants.

 

Nothing is safe in Pak.

Making them stay in tents inside the stadium itself should be even safer .

Forget Pak - I want this happening all over the world.  Especially India. 

Why you ask

 

1) Players get to live in the stadium.  No more spending time for travelling between hotels and stadiums.  

2) Additional revenue stream for the Stadium - and Cricket Associations.  Can rent out rooms when there are no matches.  If you are smart enough, have a good restaurant and ppl will visit the restaurant for good food, and enjoy the stadium.

3) Most importantly, the city, where the matches are held - the daily life is not impacted.  Some cities put a lot of regulations.  For e.g. in Vizag, where the Stadium is right next to the freeway - the freeway is shut down for a good 10 KM stretch on Match Days making life miserable for commuters.

4) Security.

This way UN designated terror groups can operate much closer to the grounds.

Do they have any islands like Lakshadweep? Or maybe lease one from Maldives and build an international stadium there.

Safer would be to play in Hyderabad, Junagadh , kashmir or Bangladesh. All of it belongs to Pakistan as per PAkistanis

Building a 100 room 5 star hotel in middle of a city is not cheap. They took like 2 decades to build Islamabad Airport IIRC.

 

They need a city like Mohali, Cricket Stadium, International Airport and JW Marriot within 10 kilometres.
