Our reporters don't ask the right questions. He didn't open with Bumrah. Just 1 overs in the first 10 overs. At the end of the game Bumrah had bowled only 3 overs.  Nobody asked anything about it. Not like Bumrah was going to take wickets. But still he could have set the tone. Instead Bhuvi was thawacked over square leg for six.

There is a strange fear amongst Indians that a fast bowler can get thrashed. I was speaking to someone yesterday and mentioned Umran  - the reaction was "he would have been thrashed". What happened to Bhuvaneshwar and Shami? Bhuvaneshwar's first over was so innocuous that all thought of any fight ended. When I said this, the reaction was its okay - "one match ....things happen".

Basically a Bhuvaneshwar can go for 100+ in a ODI but don't you dare play a fast bowler because he can get thrashed. Thrashing of any trundler is ok but a fast bowler should not be risked lest he be thrashed.

You hit the nail, absolutely true and real psyche of Indian fans

Spinners and trundlers are safe bet but attacking with pace may backfire

Wondering if Rohit gives him some inputs.

Do you mean if Rohit would give the input to correct such mistakes from Kohli.

I feel that Kohli does not listen to anyone even if he pretends he is all ears towards his team mates. He simply does what he thinks. For example, I thought that initially Bumrah was given the ball for the 18th over and all of a sudden Shami has the ball. It would have made no difference at that time but I am just talking about Kohli's decision making.

This mentality is probably the biggest reason why India took 80 years to have a good fast bowling attack in test matches.

And we still don't have a decent quick bowling attack in limited over cricket after 46 years of it becoming popular.

Umran was a very economical bowler in 2 of the 3 IPL games he played in ... and in the 3rd match every pacer went for runs from both sides.

The biggest thing that stands out about Umran is how accurate he is for a 150 kph pacer.

I am in favour of getting him in the playing 11 in the low key T20I series vs NZ just after this tournament.

Yes, considering Dhoni was still helping Kohli out when he was around, was wondering whether Rohit provides inputs.

Knuckle ball bowlers should be thrown away. I see lot of people wanting Harshal in the side.  I know he can clock 132 133 ish. But his special ball is slower ball. At this speed it takes a couple of ball to get used to. Same with Sakaria, Unadkat.  If they really want one slow ball specialist  they can introduce that will be Arshdeep. I was surprised he touched 141k.  His slow balls will be effective as he has great control.

Another thing even the otherwise medium pacer will go outside their comfort zone and try to clock higher speeds in important matches. We need such bowlers. Siraj doesn't always clock 145k. But when he wants he does. I remember Munaf patel who was a certified trundler around 2011 world cup, did clock 142kph in the semi final against pakistan if i remember right. He upped his pace. With Bhuvi it was not at all happening.

That is utternonsense from Zaheer Khan. Bhuvi is a swing bowler, if he cannot bowl with new ball then he should not be in team. When you are playing with just five bowlers you always to want to save your best bowler to have more overs in later part of the innings.

Squad selection for this team is wrong. There should have been one more 140 plus fast bowler who could have replaced Ashwin in the squad.

Bumrah should have bowled from the other end. When you are defending 150, you need your best bowler in the powerplay to give you the breakthroughs upfront..

What's the point of saving him for later when the match is practically over.

Shami was brought in to attack their weakness against bouncers .They expected Bhuvi and Shami to give good start and then Bumrah control later part of the innings. It just did not work out but it does not mean it was wrong option.

Munaf wasn't a trundler. He just bowled slow by choice. He could hit 90 mph if he wanted to.

During team huddle, Rohit joined right at end. He was standing out with another player right till last second. During match, Rohit was not even talking to Kohli, when chips were down. Infact, this is probably first time I have seen such bad situation. Also there was no discussion at all throughout the game between Kohli and others like Pant Rohit Kl or Bhumrah. Least I was expecting that to happen. But it didn’t.

No one can win if we are broken unit. Not TM, not Kohli, not Rohit, not Team India nor fans. Team management should lock them in a room and throw the keys till all of them say they have sorted out differences and then only free them out.

This has to end now

Who's to say Bumrah wouldnt have had a rerun of CT2017? It's time to move on and look ahead.

Time to move on from a bowler in his prime? What?
