Who exactly?

Captain ( Kohli)

Vice captain ( Rohit)

Coach ( Ravi Shastri, MS Dhoni)

KL Rahul( 700 runs in IPL and two failures as opener here)

Pant or Pandya?

Fast bowlers ( Bhuvi, Shami?)

Fans , for expecting that team can win .

Selectors have literally selected the same team that played the test match in England. They should included pujara and vihari as well …

and fans expect a different result in t20’s

1. When chewts sent back Venkatesh Iyer instead of Pandya.

2. When they didn't pick Siraj and instead picked Bhuvi & Shami LMAO.

3. When they left Chahal (which is ok otherwise) BUT picked Chahar who has been hopeless...so they couldn't even use Chahal for the 2nd game.

4. When they didn't pick Rituraj or Shaw.

Take the list of 13 players who played the 2 games.

Except Varun C and Bumrah who were decent....all the rest flopped.

Take the ones who flopped. 11 players.

Except Ishan Kishen, KL Rahul, Thakur & Jaddu (for thoroughness sake)....all the rest were out of form or useless and shouldn't have been picked.

We could have carried one Rohit/Kohli but we had to carry 7 such players LOL.

All of these players were hardly gonna click but we still went with them:

Rohit

Kohli

Pant

SKY

Pandya

Bhuvi

Shami

All things considered, this is the wake up call we need.

It's not just about Kohli.

It's about lack of accountability.

Winning useless bilaterals had blinded our management and regular fans (outside of forums) to reality and this World T20 is an eye opener.

Toss no 1 factor

kohli and team selection no 2

- Rohit , kohli , bhuvi , chahar are not fit to play t20 . Pandya in current form is useless

Bad luck follows bad selections . U can’t win based on reputation

performance and recent form matters

positively , now begins the Dravidian era . He declared when tenli played selfishly . Dravid gonna get us the World Cup .

they set our schedule mate and tired us with IPL before WC

That is an excuse. Top NZ and England players were not tired?

The fellow who was credited by his coaching group cronies for having masterminded India's series win in Aus sitting 6000 miles away in India.

Maybe, BCCI should have taken the cue right there and appointed him the non-playing and virtual captain leaving the on field job to a more competent leader

BCCI - why exhaust the players with IPL before WC?? they needed rest and focus.

This! BCCI really needs to take some accountability for this. A) for not paying attention to our previous 5 WT20 failures B) failure in grooming specialists. How can a country of billion people not field team of specialists for Tests, ODI and T20? C) Kohli is equally responsible, but again how and why did BCCI not pay attention to his failures in IPL as a captain?

Its so obviously Kohli. It becomes even more obvious when playing NZ which shows us what a great captain can do. Kohli is the anti Kane Williamson. KW takes middling players and makes a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. Kohli takes above average players and makes a team that’s far less than the sum of its parts.

But let’s just talk about a few tactics which are so illogical they show that Kohli absolutely lacks clarity of thinking (I won’t even go into how he puts so much pressure on his team with his antics).

Consider Jadeja’s 6th and 8th overs. In the 8th over, Jadeja bowled with nearly every possible fielder on the boundary. There were absolutely 0 attacking fielders. This is bad enough on its own considering the situation we were in. But it becomes even more ludicrous when you consider that Jadeja was brought on to bowl the last PP over, when you still had 3 bowlers who hadn’t even touched the ball yet. The choice to bowl Jadeja in the PP while having 0 attacking fielders for him 2 overs later betrays a complete lack of thinking. The 2 decisions completely contradict each other. Jadeja is either more effective with fielders on the foundry, in which case, why didn’t he bowl the 7th and 9th overs instead of the 6th, or he is effective with attacking fielders, in which case why was there no attacking fielder while he was bowling in the 8th?

This is just 1 of the many ludicrous decisions.

The batting order changes and strategy made no sense whatsoever. It really wasn’t clear what the team was trying to do. If they wanted to make sure they played the full 20 overs they should have promoted Thakur as a pinch hitter somewhere in the middle overs so the run rate wouldn’t stagnate so much and even if he got out it wasn’t much of a loss.

Keeping a hobbled out of form out of practice Pandya in the team is beyond belief. Heck, even having him in the squad makes no sense.

Also would be not bringing a Shami/Shardul to bowl in the 3rd over when Bumrah showed the ball was swinging. Varun would be more effective a few overs later with a slightly scruffed ball that was easier to grip. And Shami/Shardul could have forced something with the visible swing on offer.
